Luz was not a girl to look at her triumphs as only her own, and in this instance they'd both needed to do this and had both done their best. Luz knew that this meant she'd done very well by Vira, but also that she wanted to get even better.

This was, after all, why she'd joined Ozpin's dojo in the first place.

Without Vira's help and Luz's need to constantly better herself, she knew that Keith would have overtaken her easily. He was not anywhere near an easy opponent and knew the others after him were likely to get harder.
