for 'teacher,' june

[going to meet the black eyed man for the second time is a far different experience.

before he was a possible snake oil salesman turned intriguing, if not a little cagey. cagey never bothered viktor, who often found the willingness and openness of some trench residents the oddity. it wasn't until speaking with pal that he began to understand the severity of the situation, the ah... delicate nature, perhaps, lost to his ignorance.

he hates the idea of bringing trouble to pal's doorstep, especially one so far beyond the scope of his own understanding. what he can understand? that people with power are dangerous, like the council, like the chembarons. people best avoided or treated in careful ways with careful doses. a man who they call god seems far more dangerous than anything he he knows from the grimy alleys of the undercity or the gilded halls of piltover.

(he can understand the horror of lyctorhood in idea alone, that variation of pal from a universe that never came to be nearly dead behind eyes not his. he can certainly understand the stomach churning disgust of sending so many in with a goal they did not and could not understand the cost of. the vicious whims of those with power and he is so-)

he and pal agreed it was best to keep their heads down but continue along with this, if only for the sake of viktor's lungs. it would give him time he did not have before, it gave him safety from bloody coughing fits and the attention of beasts, strength he didn't have before. in fact he walks in with a cane instead of a crutch when he steps into god's house, the first time in a long while his body didn't need the extra support, between the increased clarity of his lungs and the sleeper blood itself.

an exchange of notes as they discussed, a friendly but careful discussion and then he can continue on his way.

(a problem he rightfully considered when he spoke to pal of this is he is too curious, too unable to leave well enough alone, too prone to taking risks. he can't pretend the promise of this talk, that the emperor's ideas, aren't fascinating. he knows, deep down, that they likely should have decided to avoid the man entirely.)

but yes, here is a guest for god's study, likely after a brief exchange of messages to see if he was available. notebook in hand, regarding the house with curiosity.]
I admit, I am not sure if it is rude or not to ask where exactly the skeletons came from.
