Ah... Luke's expression sobers entirely, a bit of sadness coming to his eyes. So Rey is the last now, hunh? Part of him wished he could hear that annoying voice in the back of his mind, letting him know this wasn't a future meant for him like it did all the time with Anakin, but that didn't come, because of course it didn't. Nice to know he was going to fail so badly that everything fell on someone else's shoulders -- and from the sound of it, someone that had been less prepared to deal with it than he had.
He rested both hands on her shoulders, giving them a squeeze, as if to give some of the hope he had in him to her.
"Listen, if I've learned anything from my experience, it's that no one is ever really gone, and the Jedi as a whole are the same," he said softly. "As long as life exists, the Force exists, and so there will be others that come after you. Whether you teach them or they learn on their own from the shades of the past..."
He paused, before shrugging slightly.
"There will always be those that answer the call of the Force. You will never be the last, nor will you ever be alone."
