[Luz knew what it was like to have to struggle with social anxiety. Luz didn't have it in a bad way, but she did have a fear of rejection that tended to make her struggle a reality in the past. This was not so much an issue now, but that was thanks to the three different realms Luz had found herself in. Obviously for Lexi this would take a longer time, and Luz understood patience.

And those were things that Lexi shouldn't have been forced to worry about. She was as young as she was, yet she had to struggle with keeping things afloat and being good enough to be even a twinkle in people's eyes. It was all so galling it made Luz want to absolutely SMOTHER Lexi with care and good things, so she could continue to define who she was outside of her family.

Luz looked up at Lexi with doe eyes]. Is that a promise, mi amor?

[She was laying it on thick, and really couldn't help it when she looked up at her girlfriend and saw that smile, that mix of sweetness and gentle earnestness Luz wanted to drown in].
