[the first time viktor sees pal when all the festivities start is when he's making rounds to see that all the stalls have sparklers to hand out. last minute prep for the fireworks kept him away at first and now he's moving around with rio, talking to stall owners, trying not to laugh at abigail's severe demeanor against the activities.
a good night so far. made better when he catches sight of a gaggle of children following pal around like ducklings.
he makes sure to come over- rio is always a hit with the children, he probably had to stop bringing her around to what practices he decided to tag along with because she's a distraction. it works now, because viktor can place a hand on pal's shoulder and murmur he can take a break, get himself some tea. he'll spent a little time there besides, handing out sparklers and showing them carefully how to use them, answering some questions about how they work to more curious kids.
but it's a busy time so he has to head off again. (with one kiss to pal's jaw, with several of the kids make exaggerated sounds of disgust about. viktor grins at him before leaving, enjoy handling children mr hot wings.)
