Far be it from Manabu to deny the omen's wishes, though he does hesitate getting his hands too close to her mouth, waiting instead for an opening to reach over when there's no risk of biting or glomming.

It takes a bit of doing - the floaty nature of being underwater doesn't really give one a lot of purchase for prying - but after wedging his feet into something that'll keep him from drifting, Manabu's able to use a fishing knife to jimmy open the crate. With a creak and a pop, the lid floats free...and so do the peculiar, carved contents starting to fill up all the open space the water's lifting them out to.
