Duty gives a small nod in recognition. He has never forgotten, even before he died here. Their personal experiences and memories aren't on a similar scale with the ocean. So little time has passed since Mariana was angered, on the time scale of gods. Or perhaps it has nothing to do with that, Mariana's mood all her own. Sometimes ascribing motive can blind you.
