Murderbot looks at the human and at the drone and back at the human. It's a drone. It isn't a bot pilot or anything that is conscious and can feel pain and fear and terror. It repeats, "That's better than you getting eaten or smashed."

It's face screws together in confusion because that shouldn't be a difficult concept. As much as humans do stupid things, they usually value their own lives. Murderbot watches, the water glowing up around them both.
