Murderbot gets that. It prefers unrealistic media, the right kind of unrealistic. It doesn't know what the real Shinsengumi would consider the 'right' kind of unrealistic or whether they'd hate all the media about them or what. It hasn't even met them, and it can only really predict the taste of people whose tastes it has already been exposed to. It's not really prediction so much as an extension of known fact at that point.
This revelation, this idea that they are her crew, her people, possibly even her friends or family, isn't that shocking by this point.

Some mutter under their breath. It's not a good angle to see what they're working on, but it doesn't matter. That's not the point. "Those are my crew," Murderbot says, "I miss them, even with video footage like this."
