OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, SHE DID IT AGAIN! SHE JUST WENT FULL FUCKIN' GUSHY SHOUJO KISSKISS FALL IN LOVE ABOUT HER BOYFRIEND AGAIN!! Ochako turns beet red and covers her face because she cannot even believe this. Why can't she stop?? Why can't she actually stop talking about how wonderful he is?! How much she loves and respects him - no one wants to hear that lovey-dovey crap!! THIS is why she gets teased so much aaaaagghhh...

If you had told this to anyone Ochako, it is possible that they might get tired of hearing about Bakugou. As it turned out, she was saying all of this to Luz, who was listening with rapt attention, and when she finished, Luz practically had tears in her eyes.

"That's such an amazing story! So the two of you really did sort of stumble into liking each other, first as opponents! But now it looks like you both really respect how strong the other is, and that's just so cool! I mean, I can tell Bakugou respects how much of yourself you put into being a hero. That, and that you want to be a Rescue hero is really admirable!"

Luz remembered when she'd wanted to be a witch to prove she wasn't just some screw up that was destined to annoy everyone around her. So much had happened since then, and Luz had met so many people from so many different walks of life.

"You did great in that tournament, by the way! I'm sad I never got to tell you that personally. I was, well, definitely licking my wounds by that second round loss. But believe me when I say this- you and Bakugou sound like you have something really special. Don't let anyone tell you different!"

Ochako is practically steaming. She's never allowed herself to get like this before, and it's not like she means to do it, either...it's just the truth!! She never realized that her respect and admiration for her fellow classmate would change so drastically. She always liked and cared about him as a friend, but they weren't close - not like how he was with Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero. She thought he was cool, smart, and funny, but...

"N-No, not...not really. I always admired him after he fought me fairly like he did, but I never really started liking Bakugou until I think we got stuck in Nippon - the first world we went to. Or I mean, liking him. I think it was the same for him, too. We were all the other had, really, that was even close to familiar. And we went through some tough stuff, too, and...I guess that sort of brought us closer. I never realized until then how much he meant to me, and thinking back on it...I always wanted to know him better, get closer as friends. I'm happy about it, even if at the time it wasn't the best experience..."

The kaoseki's stone face curse, the fight they had, how cowardly she acted, and then their makeup and promise to each other in that moment. From there it just sort of blossomed - a deep friendship to something much more profound and meaningful.

"It...actually kind of surprises me how much he talks me up to people." Ochako blushes deeply, though she smiles and wrings her hands together. "I never would have guessed he felt that way about me, or thought of me like that... So yeah, I don't think I'll believe anyone who says mean things about us."

She grins, then pulls back her sleeve to flex a little bit. "Or I'll just bop 'em, ehehe!"

That was with his friends, and they were bound to be a different kind of relationship than the one she had with Baku. Luz could certainly understand where Ochako would be coming from there though. Feelings happened over time, and sometimes they just started with a little seedling in the mind that sprouted and grew overtime.

"So you were family when the both of you were in the unfamiliar! I get that. And of course, once you run into trouble, you had that relationship of training to be heroes to fall back on. There was probably nothing you could do to fix the stuff you were going through, but once you're dealing with all of that, things change."

Luz recovering from her first-time death and how that strangely brought her to Lexi and her talking over time, and then to the fact that they'd both come to like each other a lot was something she could absolutely relate to.

"Ochako, you're a great person, of course he'd talk you up! He'd probably already had a great respect for you because of all you both went through, and he probably started to realize himself there was something more there too! Anyone who has means things to say to you need to reevaluate themselves."

Luz wouldn't expect anything less!
