[ When the girl - no, the thing - latches onto the other guy, Daniel is half tempted to swat it away. It just doesn't feel good to watch that being touch him, something about it beyond uncomfortable, straight into unsettling. It can't be good for him to have that being touching him.

Whatever this being is, he knows so little about it, other than the fact that it's apparently capable of latching onto people and taking on a shape that is familiar to them. Daniel has no idea if it's capable of lashing out, and in which ways.
