Sometime around the beginning of October invitations would have started to be sent out to the various people in Trench Ange and Ruby know - announcing the two girls' wedding at the end of the month.

When the day itself comes, people will find the location - the newly rebuilt Clockhouse, which some of the invitees may have helped rebuild in the first place - tastefully decorated. Some of the house's stranger features have been covered up by decorations in red and gold, mostly taking on the shapes of roses and butterflies all over the place.

[Ruby had noticed that Oz was more than a little off throughout the ceremony. For the most part she had always shown him a sort of endless patience. She's seen his life. She realizes weddings might not exactly be his thing after what he had been through. What he still generally has to deal with when it comes to memories of Salem.

But then he stands up to speak and for a moment his words do fly right over her head. She's glad he's up and saying something. That should warm her heart, right?

But... The words start to ring a little hollow. Did they not thank him enough for letting them hold the ceremony here? ...Was he advertising for the opening of his own business?

It- Wasn't a full on certainty but it sounded kind of like it.

She sort of stares in a mix of awe and horror as this unfolds on today of all days.

And then she starts to feel the adreneline start pumping which fuels her to stay awake a little longer.

She'll wait for him to step away from the crowds gaze, and then she'll move to approach him.]

Uh... What was that?

[ Ange doesn't have to say any more. The obvious implication. The ones from the dream gradually leaving. It's better not to dwell too long on that.

She smiles, small and fond. ]

I'm jealous of her sometimes. She's so good at things I wish I could've been. Not that I usually give a shit about parties but...

Hell, she changed me a lot.

[As they reach the photo booth, he opens the curtain and gestures for her to enter first, because he is a gentleman.]

Oh, wait, so those aren't weapons, they're your actual hands? [There's a bit of wonderment in his voice as he looks at her claws again.] Or… claws? Like, they're attached to you?

[She smiles and mutters a quick word of gratitude as she shuffles into the booth. How nice of him! And she answers him with a chuckle and a snip of a pincer.]

Yep! It's all me. These bad girls are what I carry instead of hands! And this tail is my actual tail, too. Mind the stinger, by the way? I'm really starting to think I should start wearing a sign that says all this stuff. [Scorpia FAQ.]

Oh, just a Defender of the Universe, pilot of the red lion of Voltron and overall dazzlingly handsome icon in several galaxies.

[He hasn't been feeling this bravado for a long time, but he still projects it to try and feel… normal. He follows up that with a dazzlingly handsome grin.]

[Another axe flies overhead and he ducks a bit because he's taller than her and that was a bit close.]

Uh… mostly safe.

[ Damn, that sounds super impressive, honestly. ]

But, uh, what's Voltron?

Ah, nevermind. It fucks up the magic, right?

[ She rolls her eyes at Beatrice's theatrics. ]

[He looks over at her tail and well, yes that would make sense. He also lived in the Arizona desert for a time and is very familiar with the dangers of scorpions, so he's just gonna… sliiiide a little over to the side of the booth farthest from it.]

Aha-ha, yeah, that might be a good idea… you can control the stinger, though right? So how much of a hazard is it really?

It's a giant robot warrior made up of five smaller robot warships shaped like lions and it's pretty much the most powerful weapon in the universe and defends it from evil.

[He says with a cocky little half smirk.]

[ Kihihihihi! Beatrice cackles and her face settles a little into something that approaches humanity again. ]

I'm the eternal Golden Witch, dear sister. You don't have to worry about me.

[manyone]

Hmmm? Now you have to explain.

[ She sounds a little petulant, even. ]

Mmm. Well, now you have the choice!

[cuddlery]

Not a deadly one! [She's quick to clarify, with a sheepish smile, while keeping her tail close to herself.]

I'm pretty much in the driver's seat with it. I've occasionally given an accidental sting when taken by surprise, b-but I've been trying to get better than that! What it mostly does is stun people or slow them down, depending on the dosage. The worst it can do is knock you out. Like, like a little nap really! Just, with a little prickling at the beginning.

[Lance gives him a flat, skeptical look.]

C'mon, even you had to be curious. It was like rubbernecking a car wreck, you shouldn't wanna look but you gotta.

Whoa, really? That... uh. That sounds like a show I used to watch! GoLion!

See, that's the problem with being tall.

[ Ange says it so casually too, apparently still unbothered by the weapons flying overhead...

But she won't truly punish poor Lance just for not being kind of on the short side like Ange is. She pauses for a moment, then lifts her hand to make a vague hand gesture with it - causing golden butterflies to appear in the air that form a screen-like cloud between the area they're sitting in and the axe throwing range. ]

There, nothing should get through that. [ Ange sounds confident enough about that one. ] Though it seems they have a seriously bad thrower up for a turn right now.

[ Since the axes keep flying to them, rather than.. you know, hitting a target.

Because it's clearly supposed to be a totally safe wedding activity. ]

[The moment she says it's not deadly, he relaxes. Then he pats her claw as she finishes explaining it.]

So long as I don't gotta worry about dying a super embarrassing death. Besides, you're not the only one with a dangerous biology. [He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly.] When I get super stressed and upset I kinda… start going a little nuclear.

[To demonstrate, he raises a hand, pulls off his glove and gathers energy there under his skin and it glows a swirl of blue, gold and a little red. As he does, he seems to lose some tension in his posture.]

[The corners of his lips curl a bit and he nods.]

Yeah, I've heard that before. Apparently, I'm a dashingly handsome character in a show in some realities as well as in real life.

It's not about liking it, it's morbid curiosity!

[He crosses his arms and frowns, borderline pouts.]

They didn't have anyone named Lance...

[ He rubs his chin. ]

Really American name, isn't it? But - maybe it was based off of you! Somehow.

[Her eyes widen as she watches his hand glow.]

Oh, that- that's that really bad, super explosive stuff, right...? [She says with a nervous blink, with that being mostly something she's learned about secondhand through her time away from home.]

Well! Um, that's good to know! So both have our cards on the table. Our dangerous cards! I think that's a good, good starting place for this friendship, don't you? Iii think we're ready to snap some pictures!

[He raises an eyebrow and then smirks slightly.] At least I can always reach the top shelf.

[That one always got Pidge bristling hilariously. Then he blinks, looking up at the golden butterflies and lets out a low whistle.]

Woah… somehow, I never knew you could do that. Is that blood magic or did you have that power before the whole squiddening?
