Well, who needs to step in or on anything when you have this dream team on your side? All Robby has to do -- or what he decides to -- is to examine the following result, an icy white path made to keep anything and everything under it frigid. They could have done this to begin with, saved the time, but there's no point thinking about that. You can't see into the future.
If Robby could, he wouldn't have been standing where he was at the exact time that misfortune hits. He doesn't even see it, can't defend against reality itself being warped on his path, the blowing that may be what knocks him over -- or that's the shock of the sudden pain that has him screaming the moment his brain can comprehend all the signals rushing to it. Robby tastes the fabric around his mouth, and he's panting with the follow-up sounds that want to come out, the shock rushing through his system. He doesn't even see what's happened, only that there's pain, and it's dizzying, heat and a chilling numb spreading in his body.
The other two can see better, however, what's occurred: that his entire arm has been bent into a doughnut, circling in on itself, no edges or sharp points for this now rounded limb.
(Maybe going around was the better option, actually.)
