He doesn't say anything, though. He wants to look at Mob and see what he says, thinks on that. It's his issue, and he knows it better -- what does he think about what the man said? ]

[hm, talk about calling mob out there. 'controlling your emotions to the point of nonexistence' makes him glance away, nerves spiking (15%) at the idea his careful attempts at control might be making things worse.

but that's why they're here. his gaze goes back to obi-wan, determined to see this through properly.] What if that line is hard to tell?

[ hm. obi-wan senses something. it seems he wasn't far off the mark. ]

That is what the training is for. To understand yourself better. The Jedi are peacekeepers with great powers. We train so that we can serve the people better. And never abuse the powers that we were given.

Using your powers to help people? Sounds exactly like you.

[ He knocks Mob's arm with the back of his hand gently, a more reassuring confidence than anything. A smile to follow if he looks at him. ]

[he does look to robby at that, a quiet moment before he nods, standing a little straighter than before. looking to obi-wan too- in some ways this almost feels too good to be true. then again this place was full of powers, unlike his world. of course people would be better with them, have ways of handling them.

he offers another little bow, solemnly saying,] That's um, that's what I want. I don't have much to offer in return right now but if you'd be willing to train me...

[ obi-wan inwardly hesitates. not because of mob, but himself. he hasn't trained anyone in ten years. with ezra, he only loosely guides as ezra has already received training.

still. it is his duty. he was still obi-wan and someone needed help. who was he to ever say no. ]

No payment or favors required. We can start here, every week if you like.

Are you alright if I sit in a few sessions? If you want me to. [ Said to Mob, since-- it's up to him, even if Obi-Wan agrees. But Robby looks back at Obi-Wan. ]

We meditate at Miyagi-do, and it doesn't sound different from what you teach, but I'd like to help Mob where I can outside of sessions. [ Hesitation, and a slight shrug. ] I know I can't follow, but I can listen.

[ Be support. Plus, meditation isn't boring to him. ]

[ah, another person doing this for free. mob's lips quirk faintly at obi-wan, grateful as he gives a quick nod. when robby asks his question as well he glances over, smile remaining and still grateful.]

I'd like that, if it's okay- um, what should I call you?

[said to obi-wan. he has master reigen back home and now sensei larusso. what do you call a teacher like obi-wan? maybe sensei too?]

I don't mind.

[ as for a title, obi-wan runs his fingers down his beard. ]

Obi-Wan is fine. Usually my students call me Master, but I don't think that's necessary. Or you have one you deem appropriate, I'm happy to be called by it.

[ Okay, that's cool with him.

...but he might be looking at Mob and wondering...if he'll pick Master. (he's going to, isn't he) ]

[it's time for another long pause of thinking hard about this, sorry this is just how things are with this kid. mostly he thinks if it's okay to have two masters. reigen was his master, it felt kind of odd to call someone else that, but reigen's also not here and he might never see him again. he'd always be mob's master anyway, that much was true. and even if it felt odd and a little bittersweet obi-wan deserved to be shown a lot of respect.

that was something reigen told him often, how a student needs to learn and be respectful of his master. usually after mob called him out on something ridiculous he did but still, the lesson is there.

so after that moment he nods to himself and says,] Master Obi-Wan is good. I have another master at home though, that's okay, right?

[ obi-wan seems bemused. ]

Of course. One should cultivate multiple teachers for learning. My path is but one of many.

[ Just, a tiny hand raise. ]

Mind if I use Mister Kenobi? That's what we use where I'm from.

[ Except in karate, but he doesn't think Sensei Kenobi would be right. ]

[poor robby. though mob nods, mildly relieved all that was settled. more than one master was good then, no unintentional master betrayal here.

he has a question to tack on as well,] How do we start?

We'll start with some techniques and teachings. It'll be slow at the start, but if you're committed, you will have the wellbeing you need to keep yourself balanced.

Slow is okay. [change is slow, that he knows. it's just how things are.] I'll practice every day too.

[ obi-wan smiles faintly. ]

That dedication will certainly help.

It's easier when I don't really have homework or exams to worry about. [he admits. at least not in the same way of have to get into a good highschool, since you know. the trench.]

It is not simply a matter of homework. It's also about opening your heart and feelings and learn best how to manage them. Which can be taxing in its own way.

[yeah it sounds it, enough for mob to give a tiny frown.] Did you have trouble with this kind of thing too once, Master Obi-Wan?

Yes. We all do, even if we don't easily admit it. We all sometimes succumb to feelings that make us want to hurt someone in anger or in pain. We have moments of doubt and fear that control us.

It is a part of life itself. But you can still decide for yourself. The choice matters.

Master Reigen used to say something like that. He said what matters is choosing to be kind even when it's hard to.

Sometimes I wish I didn't have these powers at all though. [not something he usually admits, but this discussion has been nice. enlightening, if a bit daunting. like talking to someone who really did get it.]

[ he nods slowly. ]

There's nothing wrong with that. Having powers isn't always a gift. Sometimes it feels limiting.

I wish more people thought that. So many want to fight to prove they're stronger, or because they think it makes them special.

No one's done that here though. Maybe it's different when everyone is like this.

I think the caliber of people that come through here are different.

It doesn't necessarily mean no one in their own worlds desire power and strength. But ultimately, it's how you use your power that separates you from the rest.
