[Sunny follows suit by taking off his boots and putting them neatly near the others'. He spares a glance at the good boy following behind them, giving him a little nod before he turns his attention back to Robby and self defense.

He listens as he moves to sit down as well. He doesn't sit cross legged, however, instead pulling his knees up against his chest and hugging his legs.]

I did not like the ice zombies. [They were kind of a huge pain and also he almost died.] Buddying up is fine. Whenever I fought I always had at least one friend with me. [No complaints about that concept here.]

Getting away from fights sounds best. I don't know if my powers would help at all. [What with not even really knowing what they do yet.] But I'm okay with close up when that's not possible. [Sometimes, you could not Run.]

[ So, some experience of fighting, and not in Trench? Okay. Robby nods to Mob, and hi there, Shibe. Robby's omen lifts its head at the sight of the omen, a tiny single tail wag....

Hello, Other Omen. ]

Something different comes up every month -- last month had Santa Claus and reindeer and animal traps everywhere, and this month...ice zombies. [ Santa Claus is who deserves the wrinkle of a nose, but the ice zombies get it. ] It's good to check the network, or me and Mob can tell you if we hear anything -- and same back. If something doesn't seem right, you can ask.

[ But, speaking of powers and how useful they are.... ] You know what blood you have?

[mob faintly frowns at the mention of all that, especially santa clause. maybe the trench should have a snack and clam down a little, is the thing. he's quick to nod about keeping sunny in the know.]

You can always ask for help. From me. [very sincere. mimicking both robby and daniel at this point, and just how he feels. depend on him, sunny...

but otherwise he is going to listen to their conversation curiously.]

Santa Claus and reindeer don't seem bad. [Those even seemed kind of nice? Definitely better than the ice zombies, anyway.

He nods at the rest of what Robby says, though.] Okay, I'll keep an eye out and I'll let you know if I notice something. [At least maybe he could warn them about something going on if he happened to run into it first.

He looks over at Mob and his offer, brow lightly raised. Part of him wants to ask if he's sure, but even in the short time he's known Mob he can tell he's sincere.] Thanks. I will.

[Sunny's attention returns to Robby, and the question of his blood.] Yeah. I have Paleblood. Miss Makima said it had something to do with emotions.

[ Robby sucks on the inside of his cheek at the Santa Claus assessment. ]

Try a horror movie version of Santa and his deer, [ he helps to clarify, since yeah, he doubts this was the jolly happy in a red coat variety. But Robby looks over at Mob at his offer, a small smile before he looks back at Sunny. Atta boy, Mob. The Miyagi-do style.

As for Paleblood, he nods slowly as he thinks. ]

Yeah, right. You're both living with Miss Makima? [ a small aside, and he looks back at Mob for as much confirmation. But after that-- ] Paleblood's telepathy and visions, playing with the mind. It's got something to do with emotions--I think you either feel what other people do, or it's hard. [ He's not a wikipedia, he ain't got every note on him.

But he has been reading up on paleblood, thanks to having a vial from Viktor. Got to think up combinations and all. ]

All blood seems to have something it's best at, like how Sensei LaRusso has coldblood, and you can use ice or fire with that, but I've only seen him use it for ice. [ The More You Know. ] There's also stuff you can do that's special to you, but I can't help you learn... I mean, [ he fixes with a frown, a small dip of his brow, ] I can try and help, but Sensei LaRusso might be better at that, or another paleblood? I don't know how to...feel out that kind of thing.

[ One's innate abilities. ]

But if we could figure something out, I think learning to confusing whatever's after you would be good learning. I can ask some palebloods, or I'll grab some info I have and put it together for you. We can work ideas out the more we know about what you think you can do.

[ Sound good? ]

[mob's face goes faintly grim as he nods to robby's santa assessment.] The Santa here is really bad. Miss Makima blew up most of it's head and it still tried to eat her.

[merry christmas, folks. stay away from santa, sunny.

but yes mob nods to living with makima, both him and sunny. he's very much enjoyed that, surprising absolutely no one. he didn't know this about daniel though so he tries to absorb this information for future use. aka answering questions badly.

he does have one thing to add to sunny:] Robby's really good at thinking of ways powers can be helpful. [his seal of approval i guess.]

[Oh. The Santa stuff sounds considerable worse than he had been imagining it. 'Horror movie' and 'still alive after its head got blown off' gave him a pretty good idea of what that had been like, though.]

They are tarnishing Santa's good name. [Extremely sad.

Putting that aside, Sunny pays close attention to what Robby is saying about Paleblood abilities and how they could go about training them, committing everything to memory.]

I think mine has are strongly tied with emotions. Since Mob noticed an aura when I was [a pause] sad.

We don't have to work on my special abilities, though. Learning to confuse things would be good. [He's quiet for a moment, glancing off to the side.]

Thank you for this. This must be a lot of work. I appreciate it.

[ thank u, Mob. Robby does give a glance at Mob with his assessment, making a small noise behind his mouth like a chuckle. He tries!! And he's trying now to be helpful, listening to Sunny -- he should take notes for himself about the guy's powers. Not like he doesn't sometimes think of cool things Mob could do (and can already do...but sliding beasts around on invisible slippery surfaces??

You have to find ways to keep yourself entertained.)

But he gives a smile to Sunny thanks, edges tugging up. ]

Hey, no problem. I like it -- I'm learning how blood magic works, so this helps me out too.

[ He pauses just a beat, to help Sunny be assured before continuing. ] So, knowing it's got something to do with emotions is good. [ And, huh. Looking between the two. ] Maybe Mob can help us out. If he can see your powers, we might be able to get a better idea.

[ It's important that they both be on board, but he will ask Mob: ] You think you'd be okay with that?

[~~i am so late forgive me...~~ yeah santa is ruined forever basically, typical trench.

he listens to their back and forth about sunny's powers, nodding about seeing the aura when that's said. him helping out? that gets another little nod.]

I don't mind. [he answers, looking to sunny.] They're probably a little like psychic powers, I think. That's what they feel like.

[which makes him realize maybe it is time to give The Advice, since powers seem new to sunny. he lifts a finger, unintentionally channeling reigen as he says,] Powers like that are kind of like a knife, you shouldn't point them at other people, especially people without powers. I don't think you would but people get carried away sometimes.

[Everyone was so helpful. Neither Robby nor Mob minded helping him out here, and he appreciated that immensely.

But, huh, like psychic powers. That was beyond anything Sunny could have ever imagined back in his own world. They were like knives, according to Mob, and Sunny has to glance away at that.

You weren't supposed to point knives at other people. That was true but... he very much had done quite literally that in the recent past.]

I'll... try to be responsible. And not hurt anyone.

[ In the middle of the conversation the boys are having, there's a sound coming from behind one of the doors - not the set that leads outside to the yard, but the set that leads into Daniel's actual house, attached to the dojo. It's the sound of a heavy door opening and closing, probably the front door, quicky followed by the sound of rapid tap-taps, approaching the indoor dojo rapidly - until something slams into the doors.

Thankfully it's got to be something small, since it doesn't sound like a huge smack, but it's followed by up a male voice speaking up with a hint of exasperation and fondness at the same time: ]

You really couldn't wait two seconds?

[ The cause behind it all becomes rapidly obvious when the doors are being slid open, making a small puppy storm into the room, apparently not dazed at all from running into the sliding doors a moment ago. It seems to bounce equally excited in front of all the boys, but then stops in front of Sunny, tail wagging like crazy, like it's waiting. Waiting for those pets. He recognizes this one from the Omni!!

The puppy is followed by a slower Daniel, still wearing his coat - not that he needs one, but he doesn't want to look nuts by going out in public without one. He's shaking his head in exasperation, making sure to keep an eye on his Omen to make sure Sunny isn't bothered by this sudden attention. He doesn't seem weirded out at all to find the boys sitting here. Robby and Mob are here often enough, and Sunny is probably a friend they brought along. Daniel recognizes the boy from their earlier talk too, anyway. ]

I hope I'm not interrupting anything? [ He says, a faint smile on his face as he looks around the circle of boys, giving Sunny a special extra nod to greet him. ]

[ Ah, good knife safety advice, Mob. He sees the way Sunny looks off, a bite of a smile on his face. ]

You don't need powers to hurt someone--I've done the same, too, because I got so worked up when I should've ended a fight. But karate can help you feel more in control with how you react, too. You don't always get everything right...

[ Robby ends up pausing as he hears the sounds of doors, a distant click and then--more. A more he's very familiar with by now, and he shoots the pair a look and funny smile as he breathes, ] We've got company, [ expecting a very special boy to come through the door...

...but he doesn't because that's too sensible, so instead: bong goes the other side of the door. Robby's brow scrunches in puzzlement at the small bang, but here we go, Mister LaRusso opening the door. He watches the omen antics as they happen, but gives his sensei a look and smile in greeting, only speaking up after him. ]

Actually, you're just in time. I was telling Sunny here - [ a nod to Sunny ] - about karate. He's interested in joining.

Inner balance. [mob nods to robby's words. if he had more to say about that it's lost in looking to the sounds coming from the closed door, a blink at the thump.

... oh, daniel's voice clears that up, mob's lips quirking a little, pleased to know a very good boy was no doubt about to be coming through-

there he is, in fact. when he comes by mob the teen will offer a pat and a little 'hello' in greeting. an excellent, wonderful boy. he looks to daniel next.]

Hi sensei. [it's good daniel is here, he thinks sunny could definitely do with meeting someone like daniel, who is so generous with his time and knows a lot about how complicated the world is.]

[Sunny blinks at the thump from the door, turning around to face it. Until it's opened and the good boy is coming! He is delighted to see that little guy. And he does not make him wait for pets.

The shisa is going to get so many pets and scritches. Sorry, he is temporarily distracted and it takes him a moment or two to recognize he needed to respond and also say hello.]

Hello again. [He nods in Daniel's direction, before looking back to Robby. Sunny knew very well it was easy to hurt someone without powers. His expression is very slightly tense at the idea.]

I'd like to feel more in control. I don't... I don't want to get angry and do something I regret. [Haha, he definitely isn't thinking about a very traumatic thing that happened when he got mad in the past!!]

Hey. [ He at least says in greeting, and then adding a small: ] We've met. [ When it comes to Sunny. Sunny of course knows, but-- well, might as well let the other two know that they've spoken over the network before.

But judging by the kind of talk he's hearing here, it does seem that he's barged in on something at least semi-serious - so Daniel will take it seriously as well. He did have time to take off his shoes at the front door, but now he's also taking off his coat, draping it across his lap as he moves to sit down and join the circle of boys.

The shisa, in the meantime, is just shamelessly crawling up on Sunny's lap. This is where the pets currently are. This is its throne now. Don't mind him. ]

Well, if you're looking for balance.. you did come to the right place. [ Or more likely, judging by both Robby and Mob's presence here, Daniel figures it's more that he was brought to the right place. ]

And if it's about powers-- [ Because he does feel like he caught glimpses of that word, right before his Omen decided to launch himself into the door like a spaceship.. ] I understand they can feel very overwhelming at first, especially when you're not used to them. Honestly, I spent my first few weeks in this place accidentally freezing half of the things I touched.

[ He admits it with a slight awkwardness in his expression, but a bit of a smile too. As always, it's much easier for Daniel to talk about problems when they've been dealt with. Like a Fun Story From The Past, rather than anything that actively haunts him. It's why he can admit this now, despite not having brought it up to anyone back then. ]

But for me, the techniques I knew to create balance in myself helped me. Though it's not like that just with powers, but it can help with everything in life. That's what my own teacher taught me. [ And of course, because Daniel is an embarrassing karate dad who can't help but gush, he just has to tack on: ] And Robby and Shigeo over here are prime examples of other people who are doing their best while using those techniques.

[ That omen is so shameless... you have to respect it. Unless Robby's omen, who just sits in a place where most of them can't directly look at him. Don't mind him, he might as well be the shadows of the room itself.

But Robby, he'll fall silent here to let Sunny and Daniel have the time to speak. He didn't know about Mister LaRusso's own experiences with dealing with his magic, his interest zoning in on the man a little more when he mentions that, though he obviously can't ask right now. There also isn't much to say, but it proves his point about not being the most useful when it comes to dealing with new supernatural skills.

He has some experience with balance, though. ...experience that a karate dad doesn't need to boast now, thanks!!, but Robby will just make a small huffing noise at that, looking back at Sunny. ]

Training your body can be good if you're not used to it. Doing karate made me feel like I could do more with myself. You still need to work on what gets you mad or worked up, but you can talk to any of us if you need to get out whatever's on your mind. This place can feel like a lot, so don't worry about sending a message if things are getting too much.

[ After all, with a beat: ] ...I find it's the easier to lose control when everything around you feels like a mess.

[ To show some honesty. Don't look at him, Mister LaRusso and Mob, he is not sharing looks with anyone but Sunny right now!! ]

[way to be extremely Relatable TM sunny. mob glances over, he'll remember this whole talk, slowly think it over and probably bring up at a weird time later when they're just hanging out with the batcats at home. for now it just settles in his head as something to considers, listening to the karate guys and their thoughts on the matter.

also time to feel a small burst of gratitude and admiration again as robby and sunny talk, thankfully not enough to have enough weird explosion about it but further cementing the idea in mob's mind that he's so lucky to have met robby and daniel. they helped him, they seem happy to help sunny too. they're really good people. he wants to be someone people can rely on like them one day.

he doesn't have as much useful to say, he just looks over to sunny with a little nod and a tiny smile.] You're already good at balance stuff. I think you'll probably do really well with that. You helped me, with the breathing and the zombies that time.

[Becoming the shisa's throne is a great honor that Sunny will happily accept. He seems pleased in his own very muted way. Even with the cute distraction, he's still paying close attention to what everyone is saying. He wants to follow along and... be better.

He returns Robby's look, thinking he gets it.]

Yeah. When you don't feel like you have any control over the situation. It's hard. [It's something that resonates with him.]

I do want to control my powers but... I think training my mind and body will help with that. I think all of this will help. [Little nod there. He thought Miyagi-do was pretty cool already, particularly with how much everyone was so kind to him. He thought this would help him. He wanted it to.

He looks over to Mob.]

My sister taught me that. I'd get easily overwhelmed by things when I was younger. So it helped. But it can't... solve everything.

[ Look at all of these good, good boys, sharing their experiences.. Daniel feels a burst of pride that has nothing to do with himself, or even necessarily with Miyagi-do. It instead has everything to do with how good he knows Robby and Mob to be already, how proud he is of both of them, and a swelling pride at Sunny's openness to learning new things, and wanting to improve himself.

For as crappy of a place as Trench can be, it sure draws in some amazing kids. It makes the man smile as he's sitting there, his gaze traveling around their little circle while all of them speak. ]

Yeah. It can be easy for people to spiral sometimes. [ Especially here, like the others noted. Trench is so good at doing that to people, at getting underneath their skin. ] It happened to me all the time when I was you guys' age.

[ It's not like Daniel has forgotten it. Sure, having a hair-trigger temper didn't help, but thinking back a little too long on moments like when he punched that guy at the club still threaten to make him feel woozy with panic. ]

.. and I guess it still happens to me sometimes now. Even when you have all the right techniques at your disposal, it can still be hard at times. [ He wants to be honest about that, giving the boys a sympathetic look. It's not like he can take this away fully from them - just make it easier, he hopes. ] But that's why this is more than just about learning techniques. Being part of Miyagi-do also means that we're all in this together. When things get too hard, and it's too overwhelming by yourself, you can always rely on everyone else here to help.

[ Just like Robby already suggested a moment ago, huh? A true step ahead of him there, and Daniel reaches over with a hand to give Robby's leg a little pat of proud acknowledgement. You're doing great, son. Look at what a good big brother you're being!! ]

[ Listen to this old man remind everybody that he's old!! And giving Robby that preferential show of affection, which gets a grin out of him--even as he ducks his head, if momentarily.

But what Robby is hearing is a good time to change the track. He pats his knees, looking around at everyone. ]

Well, Sunny's got a good idea how we can help. But how about we show him some moves? [ Looking to you, Daniel! ] What do you think, sensei? Is it too cold for chores? Or you got some tricks up your sleeves?

[ Asked with a grin. Maybe Mister LaRusso could use all the snow around in a fun way for teaching a newbie the basics...! ]
