[ properly quiet. not just quiet in the sense that there's not a lot of noise. ]
There are a few people here, but it's not as loud as the trench. [ she glances at him before she thinks to clarify, ] Fewer thoughts.
no subject
( he asks, sounding curious. )
The thoughts. Can you block them out easily?
no subject
[ it's gotten easier over the years, although, with her powers growing and her telepathy being included in that, it's become harder to manage. the moment wanda seems to have a grip on it, she loses it as it expands even further in her grasp. if someone had asked her years ago if she thought she would've been able to subconsciously control hundreds of people day in and day out, she'd have laughed.
she tents her fingers before she pulls them apart. ]
I don't make it a point to listen. People are not books you can find in the library. Thoughts should remain private.
no subject
( for whatever reason. he's curious. )
Just wanted to know what they were thinking?
no subject
A lot of the time. [ mostly during her time as a hydra volunteer, but saying as much opens a can of worms wanda doesn't particularly want to pay any attention to right now. ]
I used to try and listen to this boy I liked back home to see if he liked me. [ she shrugs. ] He didn't.
no subject
( well, you know, she's attractive. he's not going to be shy about that. )
You ever wanted to listen to me?
no subject
she tents her fingers together and makes a point of looking up at a building as though it's dilapidated state is curious. ]
Sometimes.
no subject
( were you blushing, wanda? )
Your skin's the same color as your hair.
no subject
[ it comes entirely too quickly and in a haughty huff.
she looks at him matter-of-factly, tilting her head upward. ] It's impossible for my face to look like my hair. My hair is orange.
[ so, take that!!! ]
no subject
( he smiles because he can see it's getting to her. )
Looks really similar.
no subject
[ she smacks his arm and determinedly looks away, pressing her lips together to try and stop herself from smiling. wanda crosses her arms against her chest.
she's close to walking sideways like a crab if it means he can't tease her anymore. ]
no subject
( amos laughs and doesn't even try and disguise it. it's funny, she's funny. )
Am I wrong?
no subject
[ and wanda decides to abruptly take a left. yes, she's running away, although she walks at a normal pace with her head held high and away from amos so his scrutinising doesn't see her flush any deeper.
not that she is flushing.
because she is not. ]
no subject
( amos stops in his tracks and laughs, watching her move away from him. )
What are you doing?
no subject
[ she shouts it over her shoulder, pointing in the direction she's heading. she intends to walk down another street where there are some shadows she can hide her face within.
she turns and walks backward and gestures to the street she and amos still share. ]
This one is really boring. Nothing to see. [ she shakes her head as though that's the most pitiful thing ever. ]
no subject
( though, he does start to move towards where she's heading. )
I think you're selling this street short, Wanda.
no subject
[ she knows that's not his point, but she's going with it as she storms across the road and into the next one. he can't see her flushed face now, especially since she's ensuring to summon a cool breeze to sweep the heat away. that sliver of magic encourages the humming to return a beat louder than before. ]
no subject
( doesn't sound very nice. )
What if I wanna keep going?
no subject
[ by the way she lifts that shoulder up, it's very clear that she doubts it. ]
no subject
( he makes a face at the phrasing. )
You're making me sound like a child.
no subject
[ that prompts her to not turn around and give him her back as she had originally planned. still walking backwards, she slows down. she cocks her brow curiously at him. ]
Some men like being called that. You don't?
[ clearly not. ]
no subject
( amos makes a face at her. )
You know men who like being called like that?
no subject
There was a big, tall green man who seemed to like it.
[ wanda wrinkles her nose in distaste. bruce banner may be someone the avengers value greatly, but she had never liked him. he was big and green and angry, and the small man who hid beneath that monster wasn't any kinder. ]
He had bigger muscles than you. [ wanda doesn't realise she's stopped walking backwards as she she holds out her hands and showcases them by curling her fingers and showing him a large circle with her arms outstretched. ]
no subject
( which amos thinks cancels out the muscles. he makes a face an shakes his head. )
I'm perfectly fine with the size of my muscles. And I'm not green.
no subject
You don't think they could be a little bigger? They seem a little, well…
[ she doesn't mind the size of his arms, but amos doesn't need to know that. ]
