He was glad Savage had such faith in him, though the fact others had been in the cocoons and come out afterwards (albeit changed in some ways) did speak for itself as well. He was glad he hadn't gone too far down the timeline. He knew very well what lay at the end of that particular road.
Maul had a ready answer and didn't hesitate in giving it. He got up, meal forgotten for the moment, clasping one of Savage's large hands with his own two. "No. I could never do that, not now, after all we have been through." He would have rather died himself than be forced to kill Savage. Doing that would have torn Maul apart and broken something inside of him which could not be repaired.
