[ Xiaojie literally translates into a paradoxical "younger elder sister" so it just comes through as xiaojie, like it's some kind of proper noun. But he assumes she's giving permission for him to be informal, and truly he isn't a stick in the mud for politeness if he doesn't have to be. ]

Gods were more of a maybe real, call back later sort of thing. They made prophesies and shit and people died for those but never really talked to people as far as I'm aware.

The stay in prison or what got me in there?

[It was unpleasant, but so was living on the run and scrambling to ruin every good thing in her life.]

Yeah, you can. The stay was alright, I guess, far as prison goes. The crime that got me in was triple homicide.
