[ Daniel's fingers move a little across the buttons as Peter talks, idly pressing some of them, though not really playing any game - especially with it still turned off. It's likely that it's just his way of dealing with some memories that feel incredibly fond yet so heavy at the same time, especially when he doesn't want to seem too down in front of one of his students.

So he manages to keep smiling, even if it's a very thin smile. ]

Well, he's had some.. issues lately. [ To put it mildly. Things really did spin out of control while Daniel was focused on other things. It's one of the reasons he wishes Anthony was here with him - so Daniel could help set things right. ] But he's a good kid deep down.

[ Any moment where Anthony doesn't display that is just a failure on Daniel's part as a father, he thinks.

It's something he doesn't voice out loud though, instead looking up from the device and over at Peter. ]

It'd be nice if he could have met all of you here. I know you would've been a good influence on him. [ Despite what Peter is saying about himself here.

Because Daniel believes he's a good kid too. ]
