"Then, I won't argue with you about it," Ezra replies. Easy as that. If there's some sort of pattern that's self-destructive he thinks he's seeing, or some other inner conflict, he'd speak up. But he's not going to second guess what seems to him to be the reasonable choice of a teacher to take some risk to protect their students.

"So. A few options while I'm keeping you company for a while, I think. Open to suggestions and we can mix and match! We make small talk. I can read to you. I can meditate a little and-" He waggles the fingers on a gloved hand. "So I can send you some energy to speed healing up a little without pushing myself."

He makes a sympathetic grimace. "We can dig into some real talk about what we can do, um, preventatively or in the moment about the kids with less training having blow ups like this. If you're up for it."

.. well, that's a lot of information being fired off at him at once, huh.

Daniel seems to need a moment to take it all in - especially since he's still kind of weak, despite him making sure to put up a relatively amicable appearance - but then slowly blinks as all of it has processed enough that one part of it stands out to him in particular.

"You have some sort of healing powers?"

Slight ones, it sounds like. And it's not exactly uncommon in this place, not when Hakkai has done the exact same thing for Daniel before. But he's just a normal guy from a normal world, and no matter how much supernatural things you end up running into, some things will always remain a little surprising.

".. I guess some energy would do some good, if you are sure you wouldn't be pushing yourself for it." Look, Ezra, you're young enough that Daniel feels like he has to look out for you - even when he's the one stuck in bed here.

Conversely, Ezra has always tried to take on looking out for his teachers, mentors, older family, sometimes even at great risk to himself, and occasionally to their concern or distress.

"Yeah, I can keep it at, hmmm, gathering some of the ambient life energy-" The Living Force, but using terms like that often seems to confuse people. "And letting it flow through me to you, not like, pushing hard or taking it from myself. May feel a little tingly or warm. If it feels weird in a way you don't like, just let me know."

He doesn't think that's likely; he doesn't consider what he's proposing as invasive. But then, he's an empath who sees himself, on some level, connected to everything. He's aware other people can have wildly different perceptions and standards.

"I doubt it'll be that weird."

Famous last words, Daniel. Famous. Last. Words.

Though he does mean it as he says it. Maybe if it was the first time his healing was being helped along a little, sure, then it might be weird. But even if this sounds different from what Hakkai does - though Daniel isn't sure of the source of that guy's powers in the first place - he doubts it can feel all that different.

Besides, he can really use the help, so it's not like he's going to complain about something feeling strange. Daniel's tougher than that.

"Besides.. I appreciate the offer." He even smiles a little at the other as he says it. "Is there anything in particular I should do?"

It doesn't sound like it, judging by Ezra's description. And it's not like there's much Daniel can do when he's stuck in bed with a mending broken back, so he's mostly asking just in case.

Ezra shakes his head. "Nothing needed. A Jedi comes to serve. If there's things the one being healed this way to do to...participate more and make it more effective, we didn't get to it in my brief lessons with the healing masters."

He sets aside the grief that seems to always be lurking in him these days. How much more could have learned, with more time with a whole temple full of teachers?

He frowns a little, thoughtfully. "Although all of our abilities ultimately rest on mindfulness and connection so I suppose being as, um, present as you can be given you're injured can't hurt."

He slowly exhales.

"That I can do." It's something Daniel is pretty good at when he tries, after all. And sure, the constant pain does make it a little bit harder to feel very mindful, but it's not like he doesn't still remember all the lessons he's learned from mister Miyagi, even though that was decades ago now. Daniel takes a few slow, deep breaths, feeling himself calm down, trying to focus more on his breath than the pain. It's something he's already tried doing here in bed to try and lessen the pain, but it hasn't helped much with that specific goal.

Maybe it will now though, once Ezra starts using his powers.

So when Daniel feels about as mindful as he can be in the moment, he glances back at Ezra with a faint nod.

"I'm ready if you are."

For however specifically this Jedi thing works.

What Ezra does, at first, is much the same. He closes his eyes, and focuses on this breath, and one of his go-to visualizations - his oldest form of meditation, in fact - picturing little green daises, from the fields of Lothal, that open at the faintest brush of touch, as they unfold.

He'd taught himself this way to feel calm, safe, and warm, as a child, when he had no one and nothing, years before he had any words for what he was doing. Now he knows he'd been centering himself and instinctively connecting to the Force.

All this time later, and it's still one of the easiest ways for him to get in tune with the energy of the universe, when he's in a setting without many distractions. He lets what he inwardly perceives as warm and light, come to him, and pool around him.

Then he murmurs, "Ok." And oh so lightly connects to the presence in the Force that is Daniel, and gently pushes that energy to him. It's the same stuff that is life, really; a little bit at a time like this and Ezra is not so much healing outright, as resupplying some of what Daniel is depleting with his natural healing processes. Give what those process can use to go a little smoother, a little faster, maybe feel a little less draining.

He's been doing shifts at the Sanctuary infirmary on and off for months, and he's still never sure what someone will perceive when he makes any sort of contact, or heals, like this. Ezra imagines if Mob were here, he might actually see a pool of light flowing through Ezra and the trickle of it towards Daniel. As Ezra told Daniel, the most common report is a feeling of tingling or warmth. But sometimes others have said they felt a presence that felt personal, which perhaps means that's bleed over from him somehow. He's even had a patient or two say that saw an image of a flower, or whatever his focus was, in their mind.

Others say they feel basically nothing, even when what he's doing is more outwardly flashy like speed healing cuts and bruises.

"I could keep this up for a while," Ezra says quietly, eyes still closed. "How's it going on your end?"

Prepared for just about anything, the man just makes sure to keep breathing evenly. He closes his eyes, managing to feel his focus better that way. Thinking back on mister Miyagi's teachings, on everything about balance, a concept he's trying to hold on to even now.

He does notice it though when Ezra's power starts to aid his body. It's mostly just a strange tingle up his spine, right where it hurts the most. Daniel imagines that maybe it'd feel warm if his body wasn't so strangely numb to temperature nowadays. But the tingle seems to wrap around the pain, and while it doesn't make it disappear, it does feel like a sense of relief. Like sitting down after a long day of walking. The pain gradually becoming a bit lighter.

It mostly makes Daniel think of Hakkai, of the way the other had used similar powers on him before. It feels similar in some ways too, but entirely different in other ways - ways Daniel could never put into words, not being familiar with supernatural powers like these in the slightest.

But even he can feel the difference in the nature of the powers, despite its effect feeling very similar.

"Good," he manages to answer between slow breaths. Sure, maybe the sensation is a little strange, but Daniel would take anything in return for some pain relief right now. It's been a tough few days already.

And since it's Daniel, he can't help but ask: "You're sure you can keep it up?"

Honestly, he's mostly asking because Hakkai always looks so tired whenever he uses this power. The same probably doesn't go for Ezra, since the boy doesn't sound exhausted, but the least Daniel can do is ask.
