(open) you're looking at me like you don't know who i am
Who: Ange, Ruby, Break, and anyone who knows any of them.
What: Corruption turned Ange into a true Umineko witch who decided the best way to keep the people she loves safe from this town is to drag them into a pocket dimension.
When: For a while in March.
Where: Ange and Ruby's house-turned-small-pocket-dimension.
Content Warnings: Potential violence if anyone acts particularly antagonistic. Potential talk of violence or gore. Other warnings will be added when things pop up.

Perhaps you have seen Ruby's odd network post and decided to check things out. Or maybe you're just wandering around Trench and notice that Ange and Ruby's house suddenly looks.. different.
The house has been completely overgrown by way oversized roses, big thorns growing out of all the stems, completely obscuring the structure that's supposed to be underneath it. If you get close enough to the cluster of roses, you may feel your connection to any of the three people inside suddenly pull you in. (Please note: only people who know either Ange, Ruby or Break will be able to enter the pocket dimension because of this!)
If you give in to the sensation, everything around you might go black, and when the light returns, you seem to find yourself in.. a hedge maze. A rather odd one, though. As you stumble through it, you may suddenly find yourself in random rooms, and then back out of them into the hedge maze once more. The Moss King's wild plants seem to have even invaded corners of this place, so you might want to watch out you avoid having those snap at you. Retracing your steps through the labyrinth feels impossible, like the way is changing up behind you with every step. Some rooms make perfect sense - like a neat and elaborate kitchen, or a library - and others seem to consist of nonsense with stairs leading upside down or to nowhere, or gravity not working in a specific room at all.
Flying throughout the entire maze are golden butterflies. They seem to fly with direction, and if you follow them, you might find them leading you to one of the people you were looking for..

But it's like something shut down in Ange's brain that normally would recognize this as something concerning. Something worth worrying about.
Instead she just stares blankly. (Especially with the lack of pupils and all - it makes her look aimed at Midoriya even more blank.)
"Well, she is just very focused on taking care of this place and expanding it, just like I am. We can't fully rest until this place is big and proper enough for everyone to be safe here. We both understand how important it is."

It's a close, rank, festering sort of love. It's more potent and external than the period Midoriya went through trying to protect everyone at the cost of his own wellbeing, the thing in the back of his mind that he continuously wrestles every day. It bubbles up like Corruption, and it's different for everyone.
Midoriya balls his hands into restless fists at his sides. He was never good at hiding the tremble in his voice or the saltwater pricking the edges of his eyes.
"I get wanting everyone to be safe, but something is really wrong with you two. I'm worried about you. This isn't your normal. That's not the Ushiromiya-san I know. You'd be more worried about Rose-san than making this place bigger. You would never let Rose-san call herself furniture."
He extends his hand in its tattered glove. "C'mon. Let's go. We're a part of the world. We can't hide from it or hurt the ones we love to protect them."
("I had to save you," said the young man flinching from Midoriya's mercy.)

No part of Ange seems shaken. No matter how many reasons there are right here for her to be - or have been, if she were her normal self - she doesn't even do as much as twitch. Even though Midoriya's own appearance is worrying. Even though he's clearly showing so much care. Even though he looks so emotional.
Despite all of it, Ange speaks those words so simply. Plainly. Like they're a truth that can't be changed. There seems to be some sort of magical weight to them, briefly colouring the world red around them as they're spoken, before it seems to vanish.
"You can go, if you want to. I don't recommend it though. This place will be the safer alternative once it is sealed off." There's a tiny pause, and then, despite all the eerie emotionlessness, Ange does add: "I would prefer for you to be here."
Maybe a witch shouldn't put such personal preference into it, especially when Midoriya seems so determined to get her out of here instead, but-- well, it's just another true statement.
True enough that she could say that in red too, if she felt like it.
rip in rest broccoli boy
"S-Sealed off?!" he blurts out. "No... You'd be trapped in here away from everyone. What about Trench? The city? And I can't stay here either, I have my friends and people to save. Ushiromiya-san... I can't accept this world. I understand why you want to escape for a bit, but I can't accept this as a permanent solution."
CAREFUL, LITTLE BROCCOLI....
"Then leave."
It's not like she was lying. She prefers the idea of Midoriya being here, being safe, especially since he's exactly the sort of person who will keep putting himself into danger over and over and over. This is the only thing that could protect him from it, because a place like Trench will not spare a heart like Midoriya's.
But she won't force him to stay if he rejects her perfect solution so easily.
Besides - she's a witch now. A witch doesn't show it when a stake is driven right into their heart with this sort of rejection. Even if Ange feels it, she refuses to let it show up on her face, even as she's still staring right at him with those empty eyes.
"I'm not leaving. So you can leave by yourself. Apparently you refuse to understand my heart."
cw: wounded corpse description
Just when he was coming into his own as a Hero and started being able to pull his weight, people near and dear to him were grievously injured. And in Trench, people died on his watch. Kaworu was taken and crushed, and Paul's body was a lifeless thing blooming red in his arms. Gideon slipped into the sea. Kaine and Oscar were murdered.
The tears that were threatening to show fill his eyes. If Ange refuses to show her wounded heart, Midoriya wears it on his sleeve twice over. To those closest to him, he's known for being relentless once he sets his mind to something. His voice becomes rough with emotion.
"I'm not leaving without you. I'm looking for Rose-san after this too."

Finally Ange's voice properly seems to raise with emotion. It's not cold anymore like a moment ago, like she's trying to reject him completely like a stone wall of emotionlessness. Instead it seems like she's properly getting angry.
Because this is just another example, right? Look at Midoriya. He's hurting, and it's all Trench's fault-- and yet he clings to that place all the same. Does that even make sense?
It sure doesn't to her, and she takes a few firm steps closer towards him.
"Why do you let that place keep doing that to you? To the people you love?! I'm presenting a solution here because we don't have anything else!" There's more than anger in her tone. If anything, it almost mirrors his own, though more intense. There's a desperation in her tone. Because Ange never would have gotten to this point, corrupted and all, without being desperate.
Desperate to protect those she cares about. Desperate to finally do something about a situation that hasn't changed in over a year.
"They promised us a better place when we left Deerington. But no one is safe here either. So I'm-- I'm making that place! If no one else does it, I will!"
She pauses, her breathing heavy. Ange's shoulders move up and down with each breath.
".. I can't let you ruin that." By threatening to take her out of here. Or by taking Ruby. Ange's stomach threatens to curl in on itself at the very thought of being separated from her. "You know, I always thought you were too nice. I thought you'd understand, Midoriya-kun."
Maybe there's still a part of Ange left in there, if she addresses him like that.
Or maybe that part of her lies in the fact that she can't hurt him. Unless she turns into a beast and fully loses her mind, Ange can't hurt those she cares about. So rather than killing Midoriya and getting him out of the way that way, Ange simply raises her hands.
And with a note of hurt in her tone, she adds:
".. I guess I was wrong."
With a snap of her fingers, a hole opens up underneath the boy's feet. After dropping in there, he will find himself unceremoniously deposited out of the other side onto the streets of Trench, outside of the little world Ange created.
If Midoriya tries to return to Ange and Ruby's briar-covered house, he'll find himself unable to pass through into the world the way he had before, like it has closed itself off for him.

He fully understands now why Bakugou was so willing to chase him down with every explosion he had in his arsenal. Desperation meets desperation. An unstoppable force meets an immovable object.
When Ange raises her hands, Midoriya crouches like a demon out of hell and activates his Quirk. Its cloak of energy pulses around his body.
"You can't stay here forever--!"
But Ange won't harm Midoriya, so Danger Sense doesn't ping. He's too late to anticipate the hook of weightlessness before he finds himself dumped in a jumbled pile on the street like a sack of broccoli.
