Overactive Imagination. Capitalized. A name. Neo's semblance has a name. No one wants Murderbot's overactive imagination on full display, not when it's a pessimist. That would look gnarly, and situations get gnarly enough. Admittedly, Murderbot often avoids the worst of what goes on in Trench, hearing about it after the fact. Less gnarly than home in some regards. Some.

It tries to think good thoughts.

Murderbot reads the screen about duplicates and instantly thinks of multiple inputs and drones and... Neo certainly sounds better than most humans at managing multiple inputs. Two counts as multiple. It thinks it could handle that situation except that it has no interest in having multiple of it walking around. Drones are far better. People don't try to talk to them (usually).

It no longer has a risk assessment module, but even Murderbot knows all that text sounds like a warning. Bad idea in bright flashing colors like marker paint. It wants to try. It tries hard not to try. It doesn't want to get screwed up or worse somehow fuck it up so badly Neo's fucked up when they switch back.

Murderbot panics for a moment. They will switch back right? Right? It's not going to be stuck in this fully organic form with no internal storage for its media, no internal feed, no— Breathe. It needs to breathe. It can't live this way forever. It'd rather die than—

No, don't think that. It doesn't know what type of blood Neo has, and she doesn't deserve it accidentally deleting itself out of existence. Deleting her out of existence.

So that's a bad idea.
It's bad I kind of want to—

Murderbot types that much on autopilot. It stares at the screen in surprise.

I'm used to a high tech connection to things called the feed.
Where I'm from, people can either use devices or have implants to access the feed.

That's true. Gurathin has an implant as an augmented human. It's fairly common.

I have an internal feed. I can watch serials and movies on it without needing any device.
I can still see while doing that.
I used to watch movies on the job before. Without getting caught.

That's a big step right there, admitting that. Murderbot's on edge for saying that much, even if it's all right there with Neo now.
