"Yeah," Luz said, giving her friend a smile. "I mean, who knows? What's forever, really? A span of time we measure to try and capture moments before we die. But if we can't ever, then...we'll just live, and be happy living."

It sounded easy, but Luz had lived through Deerington and lived in Trench. There was nothing easy about making the decision to try and cope in the face of hardships. That she was not going to go alone though?
