[Anakin isn't prepared for Obi-Wan to push back so soon. He's capable of doing better, but he's blinded by his anger and his parries are sloppy, but crucially the openings he leaves aren't small like a nick here or something that might end with him disarmed, but the kind that ends with a lightsaber through the chest if Obi-Wan so chose to exploit it. He doesn't want to die, but he wants Obi-Wan dead more than he cares about his own safety.
