( open ) if you have something to say
Who: Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader (
facultative) and you!
What: November catchall
When: Throughout November
Where: Various
Content Warnings: violence
i. no fighting
[By this point Anakin is looking like a textbook example of what advanced corruption looks like. Fanged teeth, fever and glassy, bloodshot eyes and an unwillingness to seek treatment has most of the locals giving him a wide berth. He's already drawn his lightsaber against quite a few people who had tried to assist him.
Perhaps your character is minding their own business or perhaps they’re keeping a wary eye on a clearly volatile young man. Regardless Anakin will notice them for whatever reason.]
What are you looking at?
ii. potential for violence
[The next person that tries to convince him to seek help hangs suspended in the air as they try to grapple with the invisible force holding them by the throat.]
Do I look like I need help?
[Slowly Anakin increases the pressure and their eyes bulge before they catch another character’s eyes, one hand leaving their neck to frantically gesture for help.
Otherwise use i. or make up your own prompt! This is mostly so I know who doesn't mind things escalating.]
iii. obi-wan
[Anakin had been hard to locate last month with his bloodtype allowing him to seemingly vanish into thin air, but the new month had removed that advantage and it was only a matter of time before he ran into his old master.]
You look tired.
[He looks worse, but he feels better than he has in a long time. Releasing the weight of his previous indecision having a greater impact than the effects of corruption. He draws his lightsaber, revealing the red blade as he points it against Obi-Wan.]
Last chance to walk away.

Last chance to walk away.
sorry ur dad is the worst luke
But while Luke isn't able to free them, crucially Anakin allows the slightest bit of breathing room so his son has another reason to stick around.]
Luke! [He's still pleased to see his son even if Luke doesn't feel the same at the moment.] I'll let them go once I'm sure they've learned their lesson.
Or maybe I won't.
Anakin is the worst dad. Meanwhile, water is wet.
[ But there was something he was better at now, thanks to this place. ]
[ He took a deep breath, drawing on the Force and what he could understand of his new strength, and pouring it into his voice. When next he spoke, his words practically echoed in the Force, powerful enough that the people lingering around stopped and stared like they needed to follow a command that did not apply to them. ]
L̠̠̑͛é̛̜͕t ͓͈̰̀̏̚t̡̛̜͍̃͋h͉̍e̛̗̭̲̔͝m ̯̜̖͔̐͐̄̐g͆͢ȏ̢̲̈́.̺̲͇̫̅̅͒̊
he'll get better eventually :c
What did was that Anakin's connection to the Force remained untouched. A Jedi mind trick would never have worked on him, but this was something more than that. He feels the compulsion and despite knowing about it still finds himself tempted to comply. The effort was to be commended and he claps his hands slowly.]
How does it feel to exert your will on others? Do you feel powerful?
[In lieu of verbal praise, Anakin relinquishes his hold on their neck for now, but they still dangle in his grasp. They take gulping breaths of air, but they won't be going anywhere.]
Good <3
No, I do not.
[ He folded his hands before him, looking the very image of Jedi calm. ]
I rather use these abilities to help people, even you.
I MAKE NO GUARANTEES ON HOW LONG IT'LL TAKE THO
[His smirk turns into a barely restrained snarl. It had always bothered him that they weren't free to help everyone. There was always some excuse to hold them back from doing what needed to be done. Anakin has never forgotten that he has his freedom only because they thought he meant something to them. If he had been anyone else they would have left him behind without a second thought.]
How kind of you to choose otherwise.
Dammit, Dad.
[ Luke finally let out a breath once he finished, tilting his head slightly. ]
I won't pretend to understand how the Order use to be, or what you suffered through because of it. By my point in time, that's all gone, with only ghosts left behind. I have only what I find and what I believe to go off of, and I chose to believe in you, father.
[ He held his clenched his hands tighter, left over right, a thumb absently rubbing on the leather of his glove. ]
There is good in you father, in my point in time. I've seen it and felt it, and I feel that goodness here. Please don't turn away from it. Please stop this.
there's a lot of work involved okay
Twenty years and no one remembers them any more.
You're chasing an ideal that never existed. All those people they interacted with and not one of them could tell you anything useful.
Good people don't destroy the entire Jedi Organisation until there's only whispered stories left. Good people don't do what I do.
[Even when he had desperately tried to be good, he still had blood on his hands. He was always meant for this and it's a shame Luke couldn't accept that.]
It's okay, Luke's a hard worker.
Then I'll make that ideal, but not just for myself or the people that come after me, but for you as well.
[ He took a careful step toward him, and then another when he was certain it was safe, not stopping until he was standing before him. ]
I want that, and I want to make it possible... but more than that, more than just being a Jedi, I... I want my family. Growing up, I didn't want all of this, I wanted my father. I still do.
[ He reached his hand out to him, knowing he was repeating himself, but at least this time around he could physically reach him as well as with his words. ]
Come with me. Please.

I'm not putting that on your shoulders. I'll fix everything and then we can be a family again. You'll know your mother, you'll have me.
This other life? I'll get rid of it. You won't miss what never happened.

You won't succeed. This path you're on is one I can't follow -- none of us can.
[ He fell quiet a moment, turning his thoughts inward, holding onto what Leia had told him about their mother, the only bit of her either of them had, and they weren't even sure if it was real. But still, even with that... he could almost feel the kind of person she might have been, deep inside himself; her kindness and her strength. ]
I don't need to have known my mother, to know she would would feel the same.

[And therefore would eventually forgive any of his transgressions. Anakin knows her in a way Luke never got the chance to. He's already seen how she's willing to look away after he killed the Tuskens, it's easy for him to assume this wouldn't be her limit. Not when it was for their family.]
And it's alright. You don't need to follow this path. I'll walk it so you don't have to.

[ It was a moment before he let out a soft breath, looking up at him with mournful eyes. ]
...then I've witnessed my father's death once again.
