[By this point Anakin is looking like a textbook example of what advanced corruption looks like. Fanged teeth, fever and glassy, bloodshot eyes and an unwillingness to seek treatment has most of the locals giving him a wide berth. He's already drawn his lightsaber against quite a few people who had tried to assist him.

Perhaps your character is minding their own business or perhaps they’re keeping a wary eye on a clearly volatile young man. Regardless Anakin will notice them for whatever reason.]

[The next person that tries to convince him to seek help hangs suspended in the air as they try to grapple with the invisible force holding them by the throat.]

Do I look like I need help?

[Slowly Anakin increases the pressure and their eyes bulge before they catch another character’s eyes, one hand leaving their neck to frantically gesture for help.

Otherwise use i. or make up your own prompt! This is mostly so I know who doesn't mind things escalating.]

[Anakin had been hard to locate last month with his bloodtype allowing him to seemingly vanish into thin air, but the new month had removed that advantage and it was only a matter of time before he ran into his old master.]

You look tired.

[He looks worse, but he feels better than he has in a long time. Releasing the weight of his previous indecision having a greater impact than the effects of corruption. He draws his lightsaber, revealing the red blade as he points it against Obi-Wan.]

Last chance to walk away.

[Luckily for Sam, Anakin doesn't even notice him. There could be a crowd and still he would only be focused on Dean.]

You're not in a position to give orders.

[He draws his lightsaber and when he activates it, the blade is a bright red. It says how much of a threat he actually thinks they will be that he doesn't get into a battle stance.]

More of one than you. I mean, I may not have my sanity, but I've at least got a smidge of rationality.

[ He keeps his hands in his pockets, fingers twitching. He wants to take a step back, but -- no. Not a coward. ]

You need to remember Ariadne isn't Padme. She's not your wife, crazy.

[Anakin doesn't refer to Padmé as his wife. They had been careful to ensure that their secret wouldn't get out considering the consequences for both of them. That fact that this man knows means she trusted him with this information and here he is still chasing after her in any form she could get.

Whatever restraint he might have had is gone with that one thought and in lieu of a reply he dashes forward, thrusting his lightsaber forward.]

[ Crap.

Dean should've anticipated this, but, you know -- he's here with Sam. And Sam's his backup, right? That's the whole point of their partnership. Brothers, teammates, family.

He jerks back, fumbling for his gun, but lets be real he's no Jedi and he isn't nearly as fast as one. ]

Shit, Sam-- could use an assist here-!

[He checks quickly and notes that while the other man is moving he isn't going to make it in time. That leaves Anakin free to do what he needed and the red blade flashes as it goes through Dean's torso.

There's a feral grin on his face as he then takes a step back, pulling the blade smoothly out. He'd wanted it slow before, but that was before this new information came to light. It wouldn't be agonisingly slow, but neither would it be quick if that was the only injury he was going to cause.

He glances at Sam.]

Don't even think about it.

[ The shock on his face is clear -- he fully expected Sam to intervene, to step forward, though he guesses now as he sinks down to his knees that he shouldn't have. He hasn't been able to truly rely on his brother in quite some time, why would this be any different?

It hurts; of course it does, it's searing, burning, cauterized but there's still a goddamn hole in him that...is going to kill him.

Not the first time he's died, and he knows that death isn't exactly permanent, but there's always that twinge of doubt, that little niggling question in the back of the mind.

[It happened faster than Sam thought it would.

He wasn't planning on Dean dying, either.

With Castiel's recent threat in his ears this... this complicates things.

Everything running in slow motion, Sam can feel Maul just on the periphery. And like clock work, the plan comes together. Pawn to e4. Knight to f3. The board is open for attack. Dean to the ground. Sam belatedly to his side, sliding the safety off his trigger as he aims and fires. The focus on them with Anakin wide open.]

[Late. He's too late. That's Maul's first thought when he comes on the scene and one of the Winchesters is already down with a lightsaber stab wound through his gut. Things are already going bad. Maul's silently cursing himself, Skywalker, and this whole rotten city. He ignites his saberstaff and swings the top half of it towards Anakin's head, growling out as he does so.]

Learn to pick on someone your own size.

[Maul is one at least powerwise if not physically.]

[There's a warning in the Force and he raises one hand and suddenly the bullet stops in midair while at the same time his red lightsaber activates to block the swing at his head. His movements so casual he looks almost bored. Everything he did before both here and in the dream had been hindered by his inner turmoil, but now he's fully committed. This is what it meant to fight Anakin Skywalker.]

Let me know when you find someone.

[And then he's sending the bullet back towards Sam while he unleashes a flurry of blows at Maul.]

[It's definitely not as easy to fight Anakin as it was last time. Maul can feel the Dark Side in him with none of the flip-flopping back and forth that he'd sensed in the man before. Well, he can at least give the man a good adversary to face instead of a pair of normal human beings.]

Must have been easy to kill a normal human being.

[He pulls out the Darksaber, switching to a Jar'Kai style. He's not keeping an eye on the Winchesters right now. All his focus is on Anakin as he swings the two blades.]

Try someone who can actually fight back for once.
