[He shoots a glance to all the pots on the stove before he remembers what Vyng had been doing here in the first place.

Oh right.]

I can do that. You shouldn't have had to. [Because he was trying to step up. Was it so bad that others had to step in?] ...Um, sorry about earlier.

[He's pulling utensils and a bowl out of the cupboards.]

[Lunch is an interesting assortment of foods: Barbecue sauce mixed with oyster mushrooms, steamed rice, seaweed...and a pine needle salad sprinkled with seeds and honey.

Vyng, meanwhile, shrugs.]

Eh. Weird monster-man in your kitchen. Understandable. And not the worst way I've met a friend.

[Anakin isn't a discerning eater, but he recognises this is an eclectic mix. He's picky about what he plates, putting more of what he thinks Obi-Wan would like and what would be good for him. That's not to say Obi-Wan wouldn't eat any of it, but he had preferences that Anakin had learnt not to have. Any leftovers he could finish off later if needed.

He pauses in the middle of plating to stare at Vyng.]

You're not a monster.

[A non-human appearance didn't make a monster. He would know.]

[spiritwalks]

[Vyng feels like one sometimes. Such thoughts usually get couched in half-jokes and wise-ass remarks that nobody challenged before the Dream. He meets Anakin's gaze with a quizzical tilt of his head.]

No? [His eyes soften.] Hm! You must've travelled a lot.

[facultative]

I just know what real monsters are like.

[Satisfied with his selections, he starts to head out, but pauses by the door.]

Thanks for all of this. You didn't have to do any of it.

[Ah. "Monster" depends on the person's point of view, doesn't it. But instead of arguing, Vyng simply accepts Anakin's answer for the well-meaning reassurance it seems to be.]
