She saw his past, too? He supposes that makes sense, that it might go both ways. At least he knows from the memory that she might understand a kid who went through something like that just because everyone thought they were a monster.

He shakes his head. "No. I'm not. And...I think the reason they wanted to hurt me is the same reason they hurt that little girl. Because they think I'm a monster."

He hesitates, nervous, then decides to ask something just to be sure.

"You don't think that, though, do you?"
