If, on any level, he taught you what it took to say that, then he was probably a good man. Because as you said? There are no truly perfect souls in war. It stains the hands with blood and the soul with death.

But good people in war are those who can help others embody what is best in themselves. And if he helped you find what is best in yourself, then I'd say he is a good person in my book. [She sighed and mused a bit.] Though to be clear, I suppose all of my ideas of 'good' people are a bit touched by what some call moral grayness. Too long in the fields of combat.
