Just observation. Humans devolve into base instincts when they're afraid. Just like animals.

...I suppose. For most, the future is uncertain and humanity has been under attack by the Angels for the past few months. Though, that's the way it's always been. There's been war, famine, poverty, and terror for centuries. But it's easier to ignore that uncertainty in the face of things like that.
