Maul nods when Wesker mentions the Doctor, a sad smile coming to his face. "I think I know of whom you speak." The Doctor had also played a big part towards the end in trying to get Maul to do better. He still hasn't forgotten how he was one of the few to speak up on the post that had involved so many condemning Maul, guilty in their eyes without caring about the reasons which he did anything.

Maul catches something in the glance when he sees Wesker look back at him, something he's not quite sure how to interpret. He might ask later, when the two of them are alone, and not surrounded by followers that Maul is afraid of seeming vulnerable in front of. As it is, he turns his attention back to the group still hanging off his every word.

"Indeed, they have been most helpful," Maul says, giving a light compliment to the group. Several of them brighten up at the praise while a few others shift around uncomfortably, as if unused to hearing such words.
