"Hmph. If he wants to hold a grudge, that is his choice. I don't resent him for that." Given how long Maul had held a burning desire to torment Obi-Wan and take his revenge, he would have been a hypocrite of the highest order to not let others have ones against him. "What I do think is foolish is antagonizing someone who is so clearly out of his league in fighting skills." Maul could have taken the old man down no problem but he'd refrained, a true sign of how he'd grown as a person.
Maul leaned in a little to Usagi's touch. "I'm.....alright," he said finally but they both knew that was a lie. He looked Usagi in the eye. "It is exhausting to be blamed when I backslide. I try hard but I cannot get everything perfect on the first try, but it seems everyone here likes to blame for anything that goes on here whether it is a snowstorm or a monster rampaging through the city or blaming me for someone's death." Of course, Maul was still dodging responsibility when it came to his fight against Lance, as he usually did, and playing up his victim complex instead. Then again, he had been the victim of a witch hunt when it came to Flynn's death, so he wasn't entirely without merit for feeling people weren't giving him a fair shake.
