To his credit, Luke took the kick like a champ, letting out a grunt and falling back on impact. He hit the ground and rolled, something slipping out from some pocket in his clothes and thumping on the ground as he came around, looking for a moment like he was going to charge forward and keep the fight going.

He allowed himself a breath, realizing this was Maul’s way of ending the fight and grinning broadly. Instead of springing back up, Luke flopped over onto his back, landing splayed out on the ground with an exhausted, but exhilarated, laugh.

“I-I… I haven’t fought like that…” Luke began, trying to think, before he tossed his arms up and let them fall back to the ground like limp noodles. “Ever.”
