"Has he ever done anything by halves?" Luke replied wryly, but still his hands curled around the saber, holding it close to himself. As used to the darkness that came from the weapon as he was -- so much like the looming presence of the man it once belonged to -- there was a different feeling there as well. It wasn't as strong, of course, and it didn't echo as repeatedly as the many deaths attached to the weapon, but it was there, and easily recognizable for what it was, if only because it had been specifically directed toward him.
"It's... not just my presence that can balance this out," he finally continued softly. "There's already some good attached to this weapon."
He hesitated a moment, clutching the lightsaber tighter as his eyes met Maul's.
"I think... I can show you," he offered. "If you want to see."
The implication that if Maul was okay with seeing it hung in his words, as if he were telling him without directly saying so that the Emperor would be involved with whatever he would see.
