Experimentally, he tries moving his tail to jog some of the ropes and chains loose, and manages to free his main fin from where it was folded and tucked under a chain.
He winces a bit as he feels something pull at his scales unpleasantly and ah yes, as he raises the end part of his tail up to inspect, he is bleeding. But at least the fin isn't torn, that would suck.]
Better question: how does anyone moor boats with this without slicing their hands open?
