Kainé doesn't understand that paradox either, or how this conversation might have led to this. She isn't even close to being sure how she feels about this conversation, or the person she had it with. She just knows that it's stupid to continue on like this.

Kainé just gives a non-commital grunt in response to that offer. "Gotta get my things." Can she really do this? Can she really live among others? Can she really find a reason to live, instead of a reason to persist?
