It definitely still matters. She damn near beams at being told that she's doing pretty well, which is an expression that fits weird on her face, but she just hasn't had the chance to hear that very often. Sincerely, at least, from someone she can actually believe. By way of pulling that back in, she tries to let her face fall to something more neutral and actually answers the question with, well. What she thinks is a pretty good read of the situation.
