Forward Dated to Feb. 1st

What: Usagi's Paleblood powers are acting up again. Also, Usagi is trying to help with the months enhanced corruption levels as a Night Walker.

A. Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark [Dreamscape]

Usagi's Paleblood powers have been relatively minor things, but she hadn't forgotten that when the Walking Terrors were doing what they did best, she had dragged people INTO her own mind.

She tried to figure out how she even did that, had tried to find books on it but... nothing. So she went to bed, wondering what had caused it if only to not have it happen again.

But that's simply not how these things work.

Whether she meant to or not as she went to bed that night, her powers seeped out and those that were near her home or thinking of the moon may suddenly find themselves in a unique situation.

When those who are pulled into Usagi's dreamscape open their eyes, the very first thing they will see is Earth. But not Earth with her trees and rivers and flowers. No, this is Earth, in all her spherical glory, bright, blue, and green rotating slowly.

The view is... stunning.

Clouds and storms move across the masses of land. Whatever silly squabbles or problems feel ridiculously tiny in the face of seeing the Earth, ALL of the Earth hanging in the sky surrounded by the twinkling lights of the stars and planets.

When the fact that you are viewing Earth from such a distance has worn away, you may realize... you are on the moon. And as stunning as the view is, it's countered by the utter silence surrounding you.

The silence is like a weight on your shoulders, on your chest. Turning from the Earth to look at the moon will not show craters but instead... ruins. As far as the eye can see on the moon's surface are endless upon endless ruins and rubble and it sits undisturbed and so perfectly preserved.

But while looking at the ruins, it shifts back and forth from ruins to a completely restored kingdom.

But restored or ruins, there is a sense that you are... alone, that there is no one and nothing else here. You are utterly and completely alone. You are the last.

A breeze picks up, and a scent of roses carries on it. A voice is soft as it calls out behind you.

"We are the only ones left alive."

If you turn around, whether you know her or not is Serenity, staring at the Earth rather than the kingdom, her back to you for a moment before turning around.

"You may explore if you like. But it is only you and I left."

((OOC: Unless a character already knows Usagi and Princess Serenity are one and the same or have abilities that would see through the glamor, they will not be able to tell this is Usagi talking to them))

B. Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms [Cellar Door]

It's late at night and Usagi offers a hug to the person who was crying, a hand on their shoulder. They go in for another hug and Usagi pats their back before they hand her some rocks and a necklace before heading off. She puts it in a bag attached to her wrist and smiles waving at you.

"Hey! What are you doing out so late?" she smiles, bright and cheery. "Are you cold? Here hold on, I've got some hot chocolate," she held up a giant thermos and some cups. "Wanna join me?"

[ a ruined world. is this what awaits his own future? he's avoided addressing it as long as he could, bur obi-wan knows in his heart it must be true. the jedi are gone. their future lay in smoke.

That does not mean there's nothing of value to be found.

[It's one of her regular patrols, this time going through an area she doesn't normally frequent. Faith has her hands buried in the pockets of her coat, and she's mostly just watching this display while she takes a break, her knife beside her. Charity and kindness are so... bizarre. Even now, when she's trying to be nicer, she still feels a deep suspicion in her gut whenever she sees acts of kindness.

She doesn't even realize she's being spoken to for a few moments, before she raises her eyebrows in surprise.]

Oh, uhm, you were talkin' to me? [There's nobody else here other than the crying person that just walked off.] Uh, yeah. I mean it's pretty damn cold, so yeah, I could go for some.

Ezra doesn't know what is going on. He's been told about Deerington being a dream; the idea of sharing a dream makes intuitive sense to him. But he's never done it before. In fact, he assumes at first this is another prophetic vision-dream like he's had about the Leviathan.

Except, usually in those sorts of dreams he's present, but he can't interact in any sort of lucid way. He merely witnesses.

But now, when he wants to speak to the woman in this dream, he finds himself actually turning to ask, voice gentle, "....war?"

Is that was happened here?

[One moment, she was taking a break from patrolling to watch the moon, and the next, she's somewhere else.

A ruined castle in a ruined courtyard, somewhere no normal human should be able to reach. The imagery is more familiar than it has any right to be, even if Ciel's never seen anything of the sort with her own two eyes through her personal life. The awareness that she is on the moon in particular is instinctive, as if finding a hidden imprint of a memory on her soul she is only finding for the very first time now. It's... odd. She knows why she can remember something that's never been hers, it doesn't come from somewhere pleasant, but it doesn't stir up what's been buried as strongly as she might've expected either. It just feels... melancholic, nostalgic.

The voice has her turn, and she comes to face with a woman with long blond hair, clad in an ornate dress befitting of royalty. ...Even more ironic, hah.]

Would you recommend anywhere in particular, for sights that shouldn't be missed?

[She ultimately manages with a small smile. What are the odds anyway, to meet more than one moon princess in... suppose "one lifetime" may not be quite accurate, so maybe more like "while bearing the same soul"? Honestly...]

[Serenity tilted her head as she observed Obi-Wan, something told her they were kindred, but that is not all that surprising if they are both Lunarian. She looked at the ruins and then back to him.]

And what value have you found?

[Usagi nodded, never one to pass up talking to a pretty girl, and Faith was lovely. She poured the hot chocolate, adding little marshmallows from the bag in her pocket and held it out to Faith with a smile.]

Hot chocolate is always nice on a cold night. Well, hot chocolate is always nice anytime but especially on cold nights. And I always have some ready when I'm working.

Serenity nodded.

"The greatest war of the system," she offered as she moved to stand beside Ezra, radiating light and power.

"All but one of the planets will look like this. It is the only one to survive with any population."

[Serenity does not share Ciel's humor on the matter, not nearly so amused by the situation at hand nor aware of what or who Ciel is. She merely tilts her head, gesturing with an idle hand at a giant pillar of crystal not terribly far off in the distance.]

If you're so inclined to take in the sights, starting at the Great Pillar may as well be where you begin.

[ obi-wan looks out. ]

That there is still a foundation to build upon. There is still hope.

[She takes it, holding it in her hands just to feel the warmth.]

It's a bit of a lifesaver, yeah. Substitutes a heater when it's all freezing n' shit. [It does not, but okay, Faith.

She takes a sip. It's then that she realizes she hasn't had any since the Mayor died. That's a bizarre feeling. She's going to repress that feeling of bitterness and heartache, and instead focus on how good and warm the hot chocolate is.] What's your job? Guessin' that's what you were just doing with the... y'know, hugging the crying guy.

Ezra flinches, thinking of watching smoke spreading across the upper half of entire continent of his homeworld of Lothal, and thinking that they'd come too late, that Lothal was dying. He'd been wrong; there was still hope, and he's know his friend and family will do everything they can for his homeworld, but-

"Will be?" he questions, gently.

The Cellar Door wasn't exactly Ariadne's favorite spot, but she was on a mission that night. It had been too long since she'd last heard from Sam Winchester. Or about Sam Winchester. Or, really, anything related to poor Sam and his missing soul. She didn't want to bother Dean about it. And she was angry at Castiel. So she'd begun to very, very tentatively start looking around town for him.

So far, no sight of the enormous oaf at the library, the farmland, or any of a number of night spots. No clue if he was in the Cellar Door either, but Ariadne stopped short, pulling her hood down off of her hair when she saw Usagi.

It was the first time she'd seen the kind stranger in person. She was quite striking. With her bright hair and her blue eyes. Like an Elf maiden.

Immediately, Ariadne fell back on old habits, dropping into a deep curtsy that made her skirts pool around her feet. "Usagi!"

[She follows his gaze and then looks back towards the Earth.]

A foundation without people is just an empty foundation. [She let out a breath.] They are not ready for this place to be filled again.

She looks over to him and then gestures up to Earth.

"Her people are numerous, endless, in a way. They outnumbered all of us. It is how she has any left at all."

She gestured to the stars around them. Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Mercury, all of their planets decimated.

"Technology and ability meant little against endless numbers and hatred."

Usagi is actually ridiculously used to being curtsied to, so she only just nods and gestures for Ariadne to come and sit next to her without being embarrassed or insisting she need not curtsy.

Whether Ariadne asks about Usagi's ability to just accept it will be an entirely different question.

"Would you like some hot chocolate?" Usagi asked, holding up the thermos with a smile. "It's super warm still, but not scalding. The trick is to START with it that way at the beginning and then it'll get drinkable once you get where you're going."

Earth, he recognizes, as he looks up. A version of Earth, anyway.

He turns towards her. "I - I'm so sorry."

Mnn! I'm a Night Walker! I'm usually closer to The Red than this but I have some clients who prefer being away from the more crowded spots so once a week I'll make my way to the quieter areas. [That said, Usagi wasn't DUMB, she didn't do completely dead areas, more she stayed around some of the less busy cafes or stores to make sure she was both seen and safe.]

All my clients get a listening ear, something to eat, something to drink, and we talk about whatever they need to. Sometimes we don't talk at all. I've gone a full hour just holding someone's hand and being there while they cried.

She let out a long breath.

"It is not your fault. Nor is it the fault of the people. They were tricked, they were fooled. Their fears were feasted on and made greater and greater than they were until only fear turned to hatred was left."

She crouched down and rested her arms on her knees.

"Still... it hurts to be the last."

Yet. The time will come.

[Any amusement she could possibly get out of this would be brief regardless, leaving not much more than a faintly bitter and smoky aftertaste she won't miss once it fully fades.]

...Alright. ["Only you and I left", the woman in white with golden hair said.] Is it okay to go anywhere I can reach? [Might as well take up that offer if she's not physically restrained by gravity, but she is the intruder here, and asking would only be proper.]

She accepted Usagi's invitation without even hesitating. The girl had been so kind to her. Kinder still when she offered hot chocolate, which was one of Ariadne's favorite Human inventions. "Thank you," she said with an eager nod.

If ever Ariadne wished she had the capacity to cook, it would probably be to make hot chocolate.

And bread. She absolutely loved bread.

"I hope I'm not intruding."

He thinks about the scant handful of survivors of the Jedi Purge he's known. Kanan and the older versions of Obi-Wan, in particular, how intimately he'd felt their pain at times. How it had felt to lose Kanan.

How it felt to know he was one of the very few who carry on their legacy. If he and Luke really come to be the last Jedi alive by the time the Empire fall - Ezra knows he's the one who has actually seen a temple filled with Jedi.

"I didn't live through all the death, for my adopted people. I was born, while they were dying. But I do have...some idea of that pain."

The silence means something else to Anakin, viewing this through the lens of her dream means the Force feels muted in a way it's never been for him. Where others had to focus and be mindful to achieve results, it had instead clamoured for his attention. So despite the ruins and the utter desolation he finds it oddly peaceful.

"Is it always this quiet in the end?"

Huh. [It's probably rude to say that up until now she just assumed Night Walker was a fancy term for 'hooker.' Instead she just sips her hot chocolate.] So kinda like... a therapist moral support kinda deal?

[That sounds like something people would take advantage of, at least to her.]

I'm a hunter. That's what people call me here anyway, back where I'm from they call me the Slayer.

[Faith actually WOULDN'T be wrong since that is definitely a service some Night Walkers provide and it was something that they were once exclusively. But that was then, this is now.] Mnn, something like that, yeah! I'm very good at hugs so I offer those too if someone needs one.

Ah, that's great! Hunters are really needed, ya know? [At the mention of being the Slayer, Usagi blinked, smiling as her thoughts drifted to Buffy in Deerington and their many conversations. That seemed like a lifetime ago. She supposed it was, in a way.]

So you hunted monsters even back home, huh? That's amazing! To be called the Slayer you must be incredible at it.
