Not that Ange thinks there are a particular amount of bear people here in Trench, but on the other hand, she sure doesn't want to mistake them if there is more than one. It'd be rude towards someone who was - relatively speaking - pretty nice to her when they went to look for mushrooms.
.. it makes this moment all the more surprising. Ange's facial expression doesn't shift when he comes closer like that, or when he speaks up.. but that's just because she's very good at pulling a pokerface.
