can't relax at all these days [temp closed]
Who: Anna Amarande and you!
What: February event catchall
When: February
Where: Anna's house, more locations as they come in
Content Warnings: Violence, violence a second time, sexual content, more as they come in
a. a dream plays a song out of tune [closed to satoko and kainé]
Well, texting a witch who looks several years her junior for 2AM cuddle sessions is not necessarily Anna's best plan, but she doesn't really know anyone else who's good for it. She could ask her new roommate, sure, but... ha. Yeah, right, like K is interested in cuddling. She'd probably just call Anna a fucking loser and tell her to go hug a pillow. Which leaves this text hanging in the air.
Satoko.
You wanna come over?
And, because she can't just leave it at that, she sends something else that should probably already be obvious a moment later. It must be something about the moon this month that's making her chest ache for physical contact. Maybe it's just February. She hasn't had a reason to celebrate the 14th in a long time and doubts anyone around here celebrates it either, but that doesn't stop her mind from wandering.
Having another rough night.
Now to wait. Should she warn Satoko about anything? Probably not.
((right now this is closed but i will add more open prompts as my brain begins to work better))

[ the disdain in her voice is just quiet enough to pass off for exhaustion, or tension, or even that same coldness from earlier. she doesn't bother with many niceties, past a quick and perfunctory bow before saying: ]
I'd rather keep the introductions brief. It is quite late, you know.
[ she doesn't even bother speaking past that. she just walks straight towards anna's room. ]

Thanks for getting the door. Sorry if it woke you up.
[she doesn't wait to go back to her room, though, following satoko and closing the door quietly behind her. inside, the room looks much the same as it always does. a little disheveled, her bass propped up against the wall in the corner, her omni on her nightstand, some clothes on the floor. on the bed, her second of two pillows is vertical, like she'd been trying to hug it and it wasn't working. weird. who would be that pathetic.]
Thanks for coming on such short notice. Sorry. I know it's a lot. [she can tell that it's particularly a lot this time, now that she's alone with satoko. she sits down on the bed but keeps her feet on the floor.]
It's just something about the moon this month. It makes being lonely hurt so much worse.

Oh, for goodness' sake. Can we skip the pleasantries already? [ blunt and crass, yes, but it's two in the morning. and besides that, she's had a long evening. she sits on anna's bed beside her, grumbling: ] It's fine. Do whatever you need to do, as long as it doesn't require me to stay upright.
[ and without any further ado, she flops onto her side, clearly expecting anna to follow suit. she sleeps on the outside of the bed; this is a routine of theirs by now, after all.
what isn't routine is way satoko casually says: ]
Your roommate's quite the loyal sort, isn't she?
no subject
Is she? I just thought she liked having someone else around. [she doesn't know how else to ask, but she can't deny the feeling much longer. and the answer to it might give more insight about kainé.]
How many times did you come here tonight?

[ as prickly and icy as satoko tends to sound, she doesn't move to stop anna. she relaxes into the embrace, even, content to be near the warmth of another-
(-even if it's not quite rika's warmth, not anymore, now that they've burnt for one another-)
it's relaxing. it's certainly a great deal nicer than having limbs broken, she'll say that much. ]
She's lucky you're so fond of her. [ "so fond of her," she says. like anna's shown any inclinations in this timeline. ] I certainly can't see why.
no subject
...Part of my soul is hers. But even if you ignore that, she just... I don't know. I wouldn't mind trying something with her. Just to know.
[that might be a bigger answer than satoko's question demanded.]
But we're just roommates anyway. I don't know if either of us is really that into each other.
no subject
Most roommates aren't willing to kill for one another. [ short and sweet. succinct. ] If you really want to know, then just ask her. Honestly, it isn't particularly complicated.
[ a beat. she reaches up with her free arm, moving one of anna's arms a bit up. ]
Do try to avoid the stomach, if you could.
no subject
Did she say she wasn't going to let anyone hurt me? [she swears she can hear it in kainé's voice, perfectly inflected.] She thought you were coming for me. Never cared for a second whether she could stop you or not. She wasn't just ready to kill.
[it's not a helpful thing to say. it's barely anything more than the musings of satoko's idiot of a friend. but it's like she never even considered it as a possibility before right now.]
no subject
she relaxes after a few seconds, forcing her shoulders to untense. it's fine. or perhaps it isn't, but better anna to know than anyone else. ]
...something along those lines, yes. [ carefully carefree. nonplussed and nonchalant. ] How impressive, Miss Anna. I'll have to be more careful what I let you see, won't I?
[ it's a strange thing to say. but in her own way, it's the most honest she can be. consider it a favor, anna amarande. ]
no subject
I don't know. I don't remember it that clearly. I just know that... [she doesn't want to say it outright. it's obvious from the way her fingers press against satoko. anna had screwed something up and satoko had given her enough grace to make it right.] I should be thanking you. I know you won't like me saying it, but I'm doing it anyway.
...How many people end up remembering, usually?
no subject
You aren't the first, if that's what you're asking. Though you're certainly the quickest. [ she stretches, pressing back into anna after a moment. ] Three others I'm aware of. Almost certainly more, of course, but they had the good sense to keep quiet.
no subject
[she curls a little more, childishly pressing her nose against the back of satoko's head just long enough to be embarrassed by it. you're 30, amaranth. what the fuck is your problem.]
Not about that, at least. Lots of other stuff that I'm keeping quiet about. [like the two of them doing this every time anna gets too pathetic to survive another night on her own. there's something she's unwilling to give voice to, but isn't that always the case? she breathes out slowly.]
Am I wrong? How long would you have let me go thinking I could outsmart you by keeping secrets?
