That certainly seems to be the case.

[ The Snake Den was almost enough to make him wonder if maybe they could ultimately find ways to simply enjoy themselves in this new world. A place where he had a second chance, free from reputations and expectations.

But that's an entirely different conversation that he almost feels like keeping to himself. He goes to pull himself up from the pillows, even, stretching to get the blood back into his muscles. ]

I think I may try and go and enjoy some of the actual festivities they're offering.

[ Look, at least someone here is mentioning the Forbidden Word. Maybe it's because Ange is still definitely sitting there, not bothering to get up.

She'll probably need some help getting up when that time comes, anyway. This dress is great - while she's in this mood, anyway - but not exactly helpful when it comes to moving around. But that's a problem for when she actually feels like getting up, which isn't right now. ]

[ Those comments actually manages to make him smile. Or, well, at least as much a smile as he can muster, which is mostly a small turn up at the corners of his mouth. It's nice to hear someone talk about fighting in a way he can agree with. ]

It's why I keep training. I don't want to get rusty.

[ And it was easy to do if he kept going up against only monsters and other people who relied on powers. ]

Precisely. A physique such as mine requires daily regimens and diet to maintain. Otherwise even a troll will grow flabby and weak, an unacceptable fate fit for culling should such become apparent to others of their kind.

[He snorted. No, his life wasn't like that anymore, but the habit was reassuring and calming, to constantly train like he had no choice.]

And besides, you never know when there will be another great strife to participate in.

[ He nodded in agreement, admiring the dedication to his own strength, and also because of the fact that he'd felt the need to keep himself in the best physical condition due to the way this world seemed to be. ]

There's certainly enough strife to around from what I've heard.

Ah, yes. there are the occasional creatures worthy of bashing to pieces for grist and experience, along with one or two which will require specific conditions be met before they can be engaged properly.

The lava grubling for example. Irritating that one.

[ Well look at that. Sasuke doesn't bother to hide the smile that forms at watching the way he reacts to just thinking about Yuri and the way their relationship has grown.

He has the slightest of envy for the development, but maybe he could find hope in it for himself. ]

Congratulations. I hear there's nothing better than falling for your closest friend.

[ Oh, Sasuke, you have said the exact right thing to get Flynn to laugh like a child, his face pink and full of embarrassed delight. He is... actually acting his age, for once. ]

It isn't without its complications, but there's no one else who makes me feel the way Yuri does. I only wished I'd realized that it wasn't a normal way to feel about one's best friend a little earlier. If you have a close friend, really consider what it is you're feeling about them.

[ Sasuke has already been trying to reconsider what it is he's feeling about his friends for the last few months before he arrived here. He'd just started to really accept his feelings for what they were before he got here, but he hardly knows what it is that his friends feel for him in return. Naruto was always predictable, it didn't matter how long they'd gone without seeing each other or what Sasuke did, he'd always be his friend. But Sakura...

Oof. It feels like a weight dropped into the pit of his stomach just thinking about it. Even the vibes of the party aren't enough to stop his smile from faltering and he swallows roughly to try and get the dryness out of his throat. Being in love is hard enough. After the curse on his family and the way love drove them slowly insane, it's hard to believe that he'll ever get to truly consider his feelings at all. ]

Mm. Yeah.

[ That sure is... a response. He realizes it too and he closes his eyes for a second to try and push away whatever those emotions were that had gotten dragged up by such simple and purely intended advice. ]

... I'm going to get a drink. Did you want anything? Or should I leave you to enjoy the pillows some more?

[ Ah.

It's hard not to catch that, and guilt sweeps quickly through Flynn, though he manages to shove it down and offer Sasuke a small smile as he shifts up into a proper sitting position again.

Flynn recognizes a tactical retreat when he sees one, and he isn't about to deny Sasuke his, no matter how much he wants to press. ]

I believe I'll rest here for a while. Thank you, though. Despite what you think, it's... very nice to talk to you.

[ That is surprising and it's clear from the look that crosses his face for a moment. It's replaced by a slightly easier smile, his head ducking with a something akin to bashfulness. ]

Maybe we can do it again sometime. Enjoy your rest, Flynn.

[ He gives him a slight bow of his head in parting before he disappears into the crowds of people to go and get that drink. ]
