It's heavy stuff. He gives himself some time to process by taking a slow sip from his cocktail glass. (Well, tries to take a sip, anyway. A piece of tomato gets caught in the straw.) With a sigh of his own, he stirs the drink again.]
Wow. All that, and the regular bullshit this town tosses at everyone? It sounds awful, man.
No wonder everything here feels off. You must be terribly worried about him.

[ there's no denying it. ]
But if he cannot pull himself out of it . . .

[It's an honest question.]

Anakin must help himself. We can do all we can, but he must make his choices.

I wasn't talking about Anakin.

I don't think it's the kind of help I want.

But I might have to. I can't expect someone else to if he slides into the dark.

I understand.
[Even before the Summoning Stones, he'd started training his body for a reason: "I can't expect someone else to." Especially those creatures who once threw themselves into Vyng's personal battles so willingly. As a Druid, it just didn't feel right anymore.]

it's a vice around his heart. so he falls quiet. ]

(It's what he wants to believe, even in the wake of his father's fear and the harm it inflicted on him and his mother.)
Obi-Wan was right to point out the effect his free-wheeling, rootless nature has had on dealing with his trauma. And yet, even in his eagerness to leave it behind, Vyng still carries the heartbreak of watching his family fall apart. Still feels sick at the idea of facing his father. Those feelings, sharply wedged between soft memories of wapple strudel and loving lullabies, stick into his heart like thorns.
He wouldn't wish it on anyone.
The quiet settles between them like a lunar moth's whispers, with a complexity and depth lost to most ears. Vyng's fingers, still threaded with Obi-Wan's, warmly press into the back of his friend's hand.]
