But under these circumstances, the opportunity to talk about absolutely anything other than his self, wretched as it is, comes as a relief. The fact it's ecology -]


They usually are. [Paul moves closer to the skeleton, which remains obediently still, as if sensing their attentions.] After the marrow is consumed, there's not much for fungi to consume until the elements break the bones down further, which isn't what's happening here. Then again - [a slight shrug] - it could be blood magic.
