There's also like... this idea, I think, that people can't do better without first being forgiven? I don't think I'll ever forgive the people who hurt me, but that doesn't mean I can't still care about some of them and want the best for them. And from what I've read she seems remorseful, but I don't think just standing around and crying about it is actually "redemption", it's just self pity.
