Kaworu laughs, softly and then a little louder by the end. It's a laugh of someone who is charmed that someone would say such a silly thing. It's so human to have these doubts. And doubts are something Kaworu has learned he too has but, not here, not now. He would kiss Paul for every surprise, he's alright with that.
