[Paul's morality is supposed to be relativistic. He knows the limits of an inflexible moral code, the places that a strict set of rules for behavior may lead.

But he sees the appeal of them. The clarity inherent.]


As for other kinds of victims - you could say they're the people who lack that clarity. The unknowing violators of the law, or those who transgress under the weight of larger forces. A man steals rice to feed his family the same as the foreman who cheats his wages and drives him to it.

At least here, the foreman is punished too. Absolutes.
