Ah, okay. Starting from the top, then.

[Which is very helpful of Palamedes to just say and then not say anything else for a long moment of walking, but he's collecting his thoughts to dispense what he knows about corruption in the most clear way. It's such an imprecise thing to begin with...]

You might have noticed this place has a blood thing going on, yes? Each of us is susceptible in varying degrees to being poisoned, let's call it, by the high amounts of bloodshed and how awful it can be here, sometimes. You're still rational, so I wouldn't worry about it sneaking up right now — there are plenty of indicators that corruption has begun, but in general, a spike in your negative and uncomfortable emotions with no discernible source is a bad sign. Losing time, feeling drawn to violence, that kind of thing.

[A beat. Mmph.]

For me, I became... paranoid. Twitchy, I guess. Let it go on long enough and the physical things start to happen, like being sick or put back together the wrong way.

[Like finding extra eyeballs, which he would rather not repeat. He twists to look at V over his shoulder, giving him a brief and mostly-reassuring smile.]

Be prepared and you'll get through it. Here, the spot is just up ahead.

[And it is indeed just a building, a row house with no distinct features standing out from the ones around it except the darker windows in the already dark constant night. Palamedes leads the way into a dusty, somewhat cramped foyer, with a few equally dusty pieces of furniture and not much else.

He is still chattering, which is both because he is like that and because talking to people also helps stave off corruption, ahem:]
Can't believe no one moved into this one yet. We found it back when we were looking for a place with the right lighting, but there's a creaky spot on the floor that was going to put me over the edge, so we went somewhere else.
