Well, you know the Big Bang, right? That all of life came from one big explosion.

[He takes a beat to gather his thoughts, rolling around like marbles on a turn table inside his head.]

I heard a theory once that says soulmates are the particles that were created next to each other when that happened. And since the universe is constantly expanding and those particles could have ended up anywhere in the universe, it’s rare and exceptional for those pieces of stardust to find each other again. Like, I dunno, maybe a shooting star is someone trying to get to earth to find their other half. Maybe when a meteor hits that’s what’s happening.
