[The warning is kind of Shiro to send. Min-Gi has been a little twitchy this week what is the lack of sun and sudden reports of wormholes everywhere.

It's been bothering him more and more since his own wormhole experience with Shiro last month. Always looking over his shoulder, always searching for signs out of the corner of his eye.

Always gotta be something, right? If it's not mushrooms or monsters it's portals and blood pockets and deranged carnival rides. Why not, right? Why the fuck not.

Min-Gi is down in his cellar recording studio when he gets the message and pauses his work to bop upstairs and peer through the window. There's definitely someone out there in the street so he slips his shoes on (a nice, new pair of loafers check him out) and unlocks the several deadbolts on the heavy front door.

Oh man.. and there she is. Shiro's sitting on the coolest looking bike he has ever seen and for a second all of Min-Gi's worry is pushed aside to light up like it's Christmas morning.]

Hey- woah, is this it??

[shiro2hero]

[If it's not one thing, it's another. If it's not lethargy and pain, it's endless night. Which has never been anything good, in Shiro's experience. But if there's one thing he can do, it's roll up with a cool distraction from all of that. Or try to, anyway.]

[He brakes fully, settling the bike to idle. Both to keep from wasting juice, and to keep the noise down to manageable levels. And pushes his goggles up with a little grin.]

This is it. I think I owe you a ride?

[dialscientist]

[Is it possible for his eyes to get any bigger? Because they sure try. A ride?? He just wanted to see it- oh man!!!]

Yes! I mean- yeah- yeah that would be awesome. Right now?

[Does he just. Get on? Can he???]

[shiro2hero]

If you have time now, so do I.

[He gestures at the bike. And then offers a pair of goggles to Min-Gi.]

I usually head down to the beach for a longer ride. Less chance of running into anything.

[dialscientist]

I've got time! [Immediate. He takes the goggles as if that will keep Shiro from changing his mind and holds up a finger.]

I just have to get my keys. I'll be right back. Wait just a second, literally be right back.

[And he zooms back inside to do exactly that, scrambling around for his cloak and cursing his lack of jackets before racing back out and locking up. Best surprise ever!!]

I'm not going anywhere!

[Sure, he's amused, but his tone is also endlessly fond. This is precisely the reaction he was hoping for. Min's excitement is wonderful. It's refreshing.]

[And sure enough, no matter how long it takes Min to scramble around inside, gather his things, Shiro will be there waiting for him.]

[Alright, goggles, on! No helmet necessary! Min-Gi looks around the bike for a moment with such wonder before climbing on the back and looping his arms around Shiro's waist. Because that's like. How you ride a motorcycle right so. Mmmmmm.. yeah. Yeah, that makes sense.]

[shiro2hero]

You ready?

[He waits until he's sure Min is seated, that he's holding on. Then he glances over his shoulder, grinning.]

We have to take it slow until we're out of the city. But then I'll open it up.

[dialscientist]

Yeah, okay. Whatever you need to do. I can't believe I'm on a hover bike!

[As if he's been on any other kind of bike besides a pedal bike. But still!! This is his sci-fi dream!! God, Shiro you're so cool. So so cool. (Cool and handsome and nice smelling AH NO DON'T START THAT AGAIN FUCK)]

Hang on then!

[He revs the engine back to life. Usually it would be accompanied by a sharp jolt forward. But here, on the narrow streets, it's a much smoother acceleration.]

[They're still going faster than most anything in Trench, though.]

[dialscientist]

[Ahhhhhhhhh

He holds on respectfully, watching the city pass by. Man, he has got to get himself one of these things. Is that possible? Can that happen? Who does he need to talk to.

Once they make it to the beach and open the throttle he'll be crowing with wild victory and glee. Not much opportunity to talk but they don't need to. The wind in his hair and the fact they're flying is more than enough. What would they do but enjoy the ride, anyway. He can't wait to tell Ryan.]

[Oh, when they're on the beach... Shiro absolutely just cuts loose. What speed limit? What safety measures? He's pulling the throttle hard, skidding into turns. At one point, he even veers them out over the water - the shallow areas, to skim across the surface. Throwing up massive waves in their wake.]

[He only slows up to talk to Min over his shoulder.]

Want to see if I can catch some real air?

[dialscientist]

[Min-Gi's hair is completely fucked by the wind, looking as wild as he feels. Exhilarated and bright and slightly feral in the best possible way.]

I double dare you!

[shiro2hero]

Oh, well then!

[He swings the bike hard. Turning it around sharply to head the other way up the beach. Gathering speed as they rocket forward.]

Hold on tighter, all right!

[dialscientist]

Ahh!

[He clings hard as Shiro zooms off but Min's hollering the whole way. This is amazing. He feels like he's flying. Like, he could totally die at any second but man this is absolutely exhilarating.]

SHIRO YOU'RE SO COOL-

[Garbled in the wind of course, but he tried.]

[shiro2hero]

[Shiro, meanwhile, can just laugh. But it's not at Min's expense. There's just something about driving this fast over this kind of landscape. You have to laugh. The rush of adrenaline doesn't leave room for much else in your head.]

I'm just a guy with a great bike!

[That little rise of rock looks perfect...]

[dialscientist]

[Do it. Do it, do it do it do it do it---]

Where do I get one of these!?

[shiro2hero]

The future, I think!

[Oh, he's going to do it. He's going to floor it, and rocket up that little sand ramp. Up... up they go. And yes, they are, in fact, airborne.]

[He angles the steering, to flare it the hover engines. Catch just a little more air. Hang on to that flight just a little longer...]

[... before inevitably landing hard on the sand again.]

[dialscientist]

[That sucks, Min nearly grouses. He wants one. But, by the time he opens his mouth they're picking up steam and then they're actually flying and all he can do is holler and hold on to Shiro with one hand as hard as he can. The other hand is held high above his head in a fist. This is literally the most fun he's had in ages.

Last month was a bad month. This month is a bad month, too. But right now is a nice little blip. It's hard to sink into corruption when yo're flying around like Marty McFly.

You know what? Fuck safety. He lets go of Shiro and holds both fists up. Adrenaline and corruption coursing like a high with every beat of his heart.]

Keep going! If we turn around we can get up something bigger, right?

[shiro2hero]

Probably-!

[The wind is whipping his words back. But it's blissful. It's adrenaline and freedom. It's as close to the rush of takeoff as he's ever going to get here. He sticks the landing keeping the bike level, even. It slows, gradually, circling around back up the beach a ways, until Shiro parks it for a moment.]

But if you're putting your hands up, you're sitting in font of me.

[Shiro can be absolutely reckless with his own well-being (see, the lack of helmet). But someone else's? Never. He doesn't want to stop jumping, racing, doing stunts out here. If Shiro holds onto Min, then, he can punch the air all he likes.]

Deal?

[dialscientist]

I'm not gonna fall off, let's just go for it.

[Says the boy usually very concerned with self preservation. Not a red flag or anything, sush let's just keep going.]

[shiro2hero]

Min, come on. Just swap places with me and you can do roller coaster hands all you want.

[Sorry, buddy. Shiro's swinging a leg off the bike, too, ushering him forward.]

[But he keeps one hand on the handlebars.]

[dialscientist]

Min-Gi.

[He grouses, but scoots forward. The urge to just. Grab the handlebars and take off is very strong. He very nearly does it. Maybe he will. Maybe you should catch him, Shiro. Uhho- there he goes. He's got that look. That wild Keith look. He's doing it- Vroom vroom bitch- ]

[shiro2hero]

Right, sor--

[Shiro's totally about to apologize. Commit that to memory forever. But then, Min-Gi goes and does that.]

[While Shiro's still holding on.]

[With his robot hand.]

[Vroom-vroom bitch he goes, with a Dorito man still holding onto the damn handlebar.]

[Okay but let's think about this for a moment.

In theory, Min should go shooting off across the beach.

Takashi Shirogane should be well and truly bikejacked.

But that isn't what happens, is it, dear reader? Oh, no.

Because Shiro has a god damn robot hand death grip and he's weighted on one side of the bike. So even at full thrust, which Min-Gi panics and cranks up by reflex (having never driven a motorcycle in his entire life) they spin on the axis that is Dorito Man's anchoring weight.

Now. Two things can happen. Either they both hover in a twister of chaos, flung around like they're in a skydiving simulator tunnel, or Shiro keeps his feet in the sand and they spin like Roundabout on cocaine.

Neither is good.]
