[There's still a touch of relief, whenever she's able to talk about her parents for what they are without being told by whoever she's speaking to that she's an ungrateful brat. Even now, after she's killed one of them and may well have killed the other, a small voice tells her that she should go crawling back to them and beg for forgiveness. It's smaller than it used to be.

Adaine nods along with what Sansa says about Paul. She knows very little about this boy, but she thinks she can handle that particular series of traits. She is, after all, an Abernant.]

I'll do my best. [She is only mostly unaware that she is also very guilty of this. At least she knows that she's clever and always right.]

Honestly, if he's really clever he'd be able to understand why someone might have some reservations with someone raising the bones of the fallen and using them as foot soldiers. [Adaine, personally, isn't necessarily as opposed to the concept as a normal person probably would be. But it's a very understandable misgiving to have.] But... yes. Honestly, it sounds like a cult to me. It's not unheard of for... well, very powerful necromancers to gather cults.

[She raises her eyebrows and cocks her head.]

Is he one of the people you're worried about showing up?

[sansa nods, taps her needle necklace against her thumb, and glances up briefly.]

Yes. He's more dangerous than any of them. Lord Baelish.

[she drops it and returns to sewing furiously at her tapestry.]

I mean to talk with Paul about the skeletons, at least. They only work in the house, for now, and he said they were mostly from his own world--the necromancy teacher did. It's a stupid risk, anyway.

[she pauses her sewing, recalling something kaworu said before the party.]

There is one thing. Paul's friend Kaworu said they weren't supposed to talk about the people in the house with people from outside the house. That did concern me, but Paul has kept more of my secrets than anyone I know, so I can't begrudge him his.

[she furrows her brow. kaworu did tell her quite a bit, despite that.]

I suppose Kaworu's more likely than anyone to tell you things, but he has no understanding of discretion. He may well tell the teacher he's spoken with you, and think nothing of it.

[she resumes sewing.]

You should speak with Lazarus. He's been gathering information, and I don't think he likes the necromancy or the teacher. But I don't ever know where he is, either. I could send Winter after him, though. He'd probably think it was funny.

[adaine]

I see... I'll add him to the spell then.

[She nods along with Sansa's explanation. It's not like she can't understand why someone might want to keep the identities of those who live with them a secret. Modred Manor had a number of people now, among which were wanted criminals. Like... herself. And Aelwyn, since she'll be moving there.

But at the same time. It is still eerily reminiscent of a cult. Or a conspiracy. Are they his children? His servants? His soldiers? His... pets?

...All of the above?]

I think I saw him on the rumor post. And... oh! This is that party post that went up, right? I didn't go to that, I uh... didn't know him, so I was too nervous.

[Despite the anxious tone in her voice, there is something sharper in her expression as she nods. She's shifting into focus. Put her in front of a mystery and she'll solve it or die trying.]

I'll see what I can do. [A small smile ghosts her lips.] I'm the Oracle. Seeing things and finding people is sort of my specialty.

[dohaeris]

[sansa frowns when adaine says she was too nervous to go to the party, but she smiles when she declares herself the oracle. in a way, seeing things and finding people is sort of her specialty too. and probably lazarus too.]

Between the three of us, we should be able to work out what's going on.

[she sighs and stabs at her tapestry again.]

But he has catspaws everywhere, and half the Seven Kingdoms is after the bounty on my head. Most of them are too stupid to realize they'll never be able to collect it.

Well, I'll be counting on you. And you can count on me, okay? [Adaine smiles. This is how she made friends in her own world, by solving a mystery and slaughtering a monster with the bad kids and becoming The Bad Kids. She'd missed it.]

I'll remember it. The minute he arrives at the beach, I'll be there to kill him without spilling a drop of blood. [Something she very much can do! She's very determined to do so!

She inclines her head slightly.]

...Because you were under his control and he's too powerful to be trifled with?

[she smiles faintly, laughs a little at adaine's threat to littlefinger, and then frowns a bit.]

That is why I stayed with him in the Vale.

[one of the reasons. she doesn't know how to explain or even want to tell adaine how powerless she was. what else could she have done? convinced mya stone to ride off with her on stolen mules? and where could they possibly have gone? by the time she knew what lysa arryn was, she was alone on a mountain in the snow.]

But what I mean to say is any idiot from the Seven Kingdoms might turn up on that beach thinking he could bring my head back to the Queen Regent, somehow. [she pauses.] Cersei Lannister of Casterly Rock. Her horrible son was called Joffrey Baratheon, the first of his name, though he had no right to it and might be called Joffrey Waters, otherwise.

I could tell you all the names I know of the people who want me dead, and some stupid cutpurse from King's Landing who knows the name Sansa Stark and the color of my hair might think he can claim a bounty on a world he has no way of returning to and kill me anyway.

[at least she'd just go back to the sea. she sighs.]

I don't suppose you have any pictures of the people hunting you? I've been learning to be ravens, and I could at least watch for them.
